The Los Angeles Chargers played against the New York Jets on Monday night. Besides being delighted with the Chargers grabbing their fourth victory of the season, fans were also thrilled to watch a phenomenal catch by arguably the number 1 wide receiver, Keenan Allen.
Where NFL matchups come with excitement, thrills, injuries, and records. With Allen, it’s also about some insane catches! Most recently, TE Travis Kelce reached a milestone, and now it’s the 31-year-old WR who set a new standard for himself.

The Chargers played against the Jets and won the match with a staggering 27-6 at MetLife Stadium. During the game, Chargers WR Keenan Allen did something marvelous that kept everyone awestruck. At 11:51 of the 4th quarter, he made a spectacular backward catch that seemed almost impossible.
Initially, it looked like the ball would slip from the hands. However, he gained his grip, and with his stretched arms, pulled the ball towards himself, creating a touchdown moment. Apart from the NFL spectators, even the LA Chargers X account could not hold back from commenting about the same.
Praising the WR, the Chargers page wrote, “R U SERIOUS KEENAN?” displaying their astonishment concerning the catch taken by the footballer. Their shock was resonated by everyone on the field, who shared the impressed expressions once the TD was completed by Allen.

Undoubtedly, this could surely be counted as the catch of the year this season, given its character and display of athleticism. Furthermore, this catch put him into the franchise’s record book, grabbing a new honor for the WR to showcase under his name.

Keenan Allen reached a receiving benchmark!
Before the Jets vs Chargers game, wide receiver Keenan Allen had 9,930 total career receiving yards and was about to reach a benchmark in the Jets’ game. Hence, during the Monday night football, Allen made this speculator catch and crossed over 10,000 career receiving yards.

With this milestone, the WR joined Bolts Antonio Gates as the only Chargers with 10,000 receiving yards. This means that in addition to the catch of the year, Allen has also marked himself as the right choice for his sixth Pro Bowl year.
