Why did the NFL skip bye weeks in Weeks 8 and 13? Is this fair to the teams?

A team always waits for its NFL Bye Weeks to recover and strategize for the upcoming stretch of the season. This year, too, the moment has come for the teams to finally take a break from the field. For those who are unaware, the Bye Weeks will begin in week 5 and end in week 15. Let’s move into these weeks and take a look at all 32 teams and their off week.

Week 5: Four teams have been chosen for this week, including the Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Tennessee Titans. All of these teams had a much-needed rest early on, which will be beneficial to them.

Week 6: In this week we won’t be able to observe the champion team from the previous two years. Yeah, we’re talking about the Kansas City Chiefs, who, along with the Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, and Minnesota Vikings, are off in this week.

Week 7: This week will be jam-packed with activity because only two clubs will not be playing. The Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys will watch the rest of the games from home.

Week 8: Okay! You will be surprised to learn that the NFL has opted not to grant any teams a bye week in Week 8. So yet, no reports have been released to explain why this is the case.

Week 9: This week will also be particularly important because only two teams are resting. These two teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers and the San Francisco 49ers.

Week 10: This is going to be a good week for four teams who will not be on Girdrion. The teams are the Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Seattle Seahawks.

Week 11: Here we go again! This will be another big week as a total of four teams are getting off. In most NFL Bye Weeks, the league attempts to divide teams into groups of four. The Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will not take the field this week.

Woah! So these were the weeks when we noticed a reasonable or low number of teams not playing. This means we’ll still have plenty of action, but let’s look at the weeks when there will be too few matches.

This year’s largest NFL bye weeks are Weeks 12 and 14.

Yes, you heard that correctly. After Week 12, the number of teams that will not participate climbs significantly. So why wait let’s take a look at that too.

Week 13: Following a long week off, the NFL unexpectedly opted not to offer any club a bye week in Week 13. Furthermore, the cause behind this is also unknown.

Week 15: This week is the final week of bye weeks, and some teams will have to wait until then to get off. The teams are the Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, and Washington Commanders.
