“Just hold onto the fu*king ball,” Jackson said. “I’m sorry for my language, but this sh*t is annoying. I’m tired of this sh*t,” Lamar Jackson was frustrated as hell after the loss against the Buffalo Bills. With 4,172 passing yards and 41 TDs, the Ravens quarterback had an MVP-worthy season. But everything came to a standstill against the Bills. The Ravens had two chances to equalize the score, including Mark Andrews’ dropped 2-point conversion in the last seconds of the game but it just was not the Ravens’ day. While the Ravens Flock are still processing the crushing defeat, the NFL has announced another blow to Lamar’s team.
Remember the Ravens vs Steelers game in week 16? It was the Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey who got overexcited in the 4th quarter. Although Marlon scored a brilliant 37-yard TD, intercepting Russell Wilson’s pass, the NFL was not okay with his celebration and ultimately penalized him with a $11,255 fine. Add the Bengals game in week 10 and that was another instance when Marlon was booked twice; one for unnecessary roughness and the other one for face masking. Well, the Ravens’ CB has been booked by the NFL again, and this time with a huge fine of $$45,020 for unnecessary roughness.
At the 0:28 mark in the 2nd quarter, Josh Allen & the Bills were only 8 yards away from the Ravens end zone. On 2nd 6 drive, he tried to rush forward with the ball in his hand. But the Ravens were ready.

Lamar Jackson’s CB number 44 rushed to his left to stop the Bills QB in his tracks. He and safety Kyle Hamilton tackled him, dropping him on the ground. While the referees missed it during the play, the NFL monitoring team didn’t. They watched the play and listed the fine. It increases his total fines this year to $90,041 in 4 violations.
However, the divisional round fine will rub salt into his and Lamar Jackson‘s wounds. Despite the loss, the Ravens QB is a strong contender for MVP.

The Saenger Theatre in New Orleans will shine on February 6 as the players assemble for the NFL Honors ceremony. That’s where the NFL MVP for the 2024 season will be announced. On the 23rd of January, the list of finalists was announced, with Saquon Barkley, Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, and Josh Allen confirmed as Lamar Jackson’s competition. While all have performed well, the race is between the two quarterbacks who faced off in the divisional round. But Jackson has received a powerful push just a day before.
On January 22, The Professional Football Writers of America voted in favor of Lamar Jackson as their MVP. With this 3rd MVP by PFWA, he tied Tom Brady, who won it thrice (2007,2010,0 and 2017). And when the Ravens QB won PFWA MVP in 2019 and 2023, he also won the NFL MVP Award. Will the history repeat itself? We’ll see. But this year, he blew away everyone with his majestic performances.

This season, he became the first signal caller with 4000+ passing yards and 800+ rushing yards. Additionally, he climbed to the top of the NFL’s rushing yards by a quarterback, by surpassing Michael Vick (6,109) with 6,173 yards. The only thing he would have wanted is a Super Bowl, which he missed. But the fans will be happy if he becomes 3-times MVP.
