Pittsburgh Steelers are proving themselves this season with an incredible 3-0 trail. Until now, Justin Fields has played an important role in leading the offense to all these victories. Does his previous team regret losing him?

Back when his allegiance lay with the Chicago Bears, Fields was not doing a good job. His deteriorating performance on the gridiron was one reason why he was let go. And given the controversy that could have stirred up, Mike Golic Jr. thinks everything happened for the best.

On his show Gojo and Golic, the former NFLer, and now sports analyst claimed that the Bears probably don’t regret releasing Justin Fields from their roster for good reasons.

Keeping Justin Fields around would have only invited the level of controversy that comes with the position,” said Golic Jr. “I can understand them not wanting their former Top 10 pick backing up their current No. 1 overall pick.” The former NFLer also added, “You see him [Caleb Williams] doing things that indicate later on he has got a chance of being pretty good once the traction takes hold here. So, no, I don’t think they have any regrets right now in Chicago.

Chicago is trailing 1-2 which is a huge distinction when compared to Pittsburgh. This is why the word ‘regret’ even came to be in this conversation.

Since Fields was their previous QB Bears, things would have heated up after the team recruited Caleb Williams as their number one pick. This is exactly what the Steelers are facing with both Justin Fields and Russell Wilson on board.

Justin Fields-Russell Wilson controversy might meet an end soon

Russell Wilson got injured even before the regular season began. During a conditioning test, his calf tightened, and it unfortunately hasn’t loosened up yet. Since a crucial muscle requires him to rest, the Pittsburgh Steelers picked Justin Fields to be the QB 1 for the team, and has held his end of the bargain pretty well.

The AFC North team dominated all three matches up until now, but what happens when Wilson is finally ready to come back? He was expected to be the QB 1, but since Fields is playing great, will he stay the game opener for the team?

Mike Tomlin seems stressed even before having to make the call. In an interview, he was asked to pick the opening quarterback once Wilson is completely healed. The Steelers head coach said, “When we have a decision to make, I’ll make it and I’ll be transparent.

This was his way of shutting down any and all questions pertaining to the topic. He is letting the controversy stir for now before he has to make the ultimate decision.

Obviously, the Bears haven’t officially claimed to be regretting losing Justin Fields. Do you think the managers are hiding their feelings?
