Should the Panthers risk trading Bryce Young after his promising performance against the Saints?

Imagine you outperform everyone in the game where you get an opportunity to break your team’s losing streak and show the world your worth. The Panthers QB performed so well against the Saints when the franchise needed a beacon of hope for the 2nd win out of nine games. With a completion percentage of  61.5%, he managed to score one touchdown with one interception for 171 yards. This performance of Bryce Young changed the perspective of looking at jersey No. 09 after he was benched after the first two losses to the franchise in favor of veteran Andy Dalton. But time seems to have changed for the 23-year-old. The NFL trade deadline looms, sparking heated debate around the jersey no. 9.

You may be aware that the Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa had a third concussion in his NFL career in a week 2 game against the Buffalo Bills. Several concussions to the important position such as QB on the gridiron can surely be a concern for the franchise. That’s why NFL analysts Pete Prisco and Rick Spielman were discussing the potential trade of the Panthers’ jersey no. 9 to the Miami Dolphins. When both the analysts were discussing Young’s trade destination, Pete Prisco asked, “What are you gonna trade for? What are you going to get for him?”. Where Pete did not see any team for Young, analyst Rick Spielman had a probable option for Young. Rick opined, “To me, the perfect fit is a Miami Dolphins.”

Rick Spielman stated further that, “Tua is in his concussion protocol. I think he would a great in that system.” Tua signed a $212.4 million contract in July 2024. However, nothing will happen to his guaranteed paycheck of 167 million dollars if retires. But that’s another case. NFL experts also state that the 26-year-old may get more opportunities in the future and there is no need to retire. But amid mixed arguments over the concussion concern of Tua, Young’s name is being discussed for the QB position at the Miami Dolphins.

Bryce Young’s worth will determine everything

Young saw his first win on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. He got one chance and did a great job where the team expected him to deliver the best. The first overall pick for 2023 was not doing what the Panthers’ head coach Dave Canales and the franchise had expected.
