After seeing the Chiefs’s dreams of winning the Super Bowl three-peat in NFL history shattered, the entire Mahomes family has been going through yet another traumatic ordeal. Unfortunately, the patriarch of the Chiefs’ QB family, Larry “Randy” Martin, passed away on February 12, 2025.
Soon after Patrick Mahomes’ mom, Randi Mahomes’ provided an emotional update regarding her loving dad’s demise through an IG post, one of her close friends, Teresa Jane also caught significant attention by dropping a heartening note on Instagram on behalf of the Mahomes family.
“As many have probably seen, my bestie @randimahomes has had a hard week as she held the hand of her last living parent while he slipped into heaven,” she added. Besides this, Mahomes’ mom’s friend also explained about her suffering as she has been going through the most painful period because of her dad’s death. “I can’t imagine the pain as I’m so blessed to not know it yet, but she is truly hurting, struggling, in complete heartache for the loss of her daddy!!,” she further mentioned.

Apart from that, Teresa Jane also penned the service details for those who are seeking to join the Mahomes family to honor the late Randy Martin. “Following are service details as so many have asked, and she just hasn’t been able to find the words to post yet: Friends and Family, Funeral Services for Larry ‘Randy’ Martin will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 17, 2025, at Charles Radar Funeral Home in Henderson, Texas. Visitation will be held the hour before the service, starting at 1:00 pm.,” she noted further.
Additionally, Randi Mahomes’s friend also concluded her IG post by saying thanks for all the prayers Mahomes received at this awful moment. “Thank you for all of the thoughts, prayers, and love, as they need every ounce during this painful time of letting go.”
Randi Mahomes’s friend’s update on her just came after Randi herself announced this heartbreaking news update about her dad’s demise.

Taking to her official Instagram handle, Randi confirmed the news of her father’s death. “Hard to find the words of holding my father’s hand as he goes to heaven. I know he’s in a better place. I love you, Daddy,” the mom of three mentioned in her IG post. At this unfortunate moment, she also referenced the Bible verse Matthew 25:23. “Well done, good and faithful servant!,” she added further.

Clearly, Randy Martin, who died at 78, had been struggling with the illness for several months. And, when he took his last breath, he was in hospice care during that moment. The health of Martin, a former school principal who had around 33 years of teaching experience, had been deteriorating over the past few months.
Even, last month in January, just before the Chiefs’ AFC Championship Game against the Bills, mom Randi revealed that her father had gone into hospice treatments. At that moment, she also prayed for good upcoming days for her dad.

And, since on September 13, she dropped the worrying update on her dad’s health, she continued to urge her fans to pray for her daddy. “Prayer warriors, please pray for my daddy. He is in the hospital and is not well … his name is Randy,” she mentioned in one of her posts on X.
Patrick Mahomes’ mom shared a strong bond with her beloved dad. And hence, Randi is coping with the upsetting circumstance of her father’s passing. But her fans and friends are with her in this tragic phase.
