The stage is set: Two teams are fighting for a spot in the Super Bowl LIX. One is trying to complete a fairy tale rebuild by gracing the grandest stage of football after a 33-year hiatus. Another is trying to play their second Super Bowl within a space of three seasons. So, there’s a lot to play for in this year’s NFC Championship game between the Eagles and the Commanders. However, neither team is at full force because of a few injuries here and there on their roster.

Well, to start off with the Eagles, their QB Jalen Hurts has just clogged in a limited participation report hours before facing Washington. This comes on the back of a knee injury he suffered against the Rams. When he was sacked, his knee bent awkwardly, thereby causing problems for him to immediately continue. But thankfully, he didn’t miss a snap and went on to return with something on his knee for protection. Hurts had a knee brace, which limited his running capabilities, and that was concerning for the Eagles.

See, the injury report may have painted a bleak picture of Hurts’ availability with questionable status. His head coach, Nick Sirianni, was there to offer some respite to the Eagles Nation: “I think he’s had a good week of practice.” But his knee brace might remain on when he takes the gridiron in Lincoln Field on Sunday. Apart from Hurts, the Phillies have a few more injuries to worry about. Their receiver, AJ Brown, was also a limited participant because of knee problems and illness. And to make matters worse, their TE Dallas Goedert was listed as a non-participant with an ankle injury on Friday. But by the end of Saturday, Goedert was given a full participation report, which keeps him in the mix of things on Sunday.

His presence against the Commanders would offer Hurts an option other than Saquon Barkley to pass the ball. Among all the receivers in Green, Goedert was the only one to notch 103 receiving yards in two of their postseason games. Well, there is some more positive news for the Eagles. After Quinyon Mitchell, Lane Johnson was given questionable tags for their respective shoulder and knee injuries. Fans saw their defensive stars get cleared with full participation as they tried to stop Jayden Daniels.

Now, the Eagles aren’t the only ones bloated with injuries. Their NFC East foes, Washington Commanders’ are also facing a few injuries of their own.

Washington Commanders goes toe-to-toe with the Philadelphia Eagles in terms of injuries

Going up against each other for the third time, the stakes couldn’t be higher than it ever was for the Commanders and the Eagles. Like they are just two wins away from winning their first Super Bowl since 1992. However, not everything is going right for the Commanders. Their latest injury reports suggest several of their key defensive units were non-participants. One of them is offensive guard Samuel Cosmi, who has a knee injury. Then comes their defensive end, Javontae Jean-Baptiste, who is questionable with a shoulder injury. And to make things more difficult. Bobby Wagner was also limited in practice with an ankle injury. His 132 tackles and 4 passes defended remains at the top of the Commanders’ defensive numbers.

And don’t forget Frankie Luvu—he also carries a questionable tag with a shoulder injury before the NFC Championship clash. His first season with the Commanders has already earned him a second-team All-Pro for those 8 sacks and 99 he recorded in the regular season. So, there you have it. What do you think? Will the Commanders manage to stop the Eagles from winning at home and progress to the Super Bowl? Or will it be Washington yet again who wins the clash against all the odds? I guess we will just have to wait a few hours to find out.
