The East Coast suffered some heavy damage from Tropical Storm Ophelia recently in September. The storm has found its way to the northeastern part of the country, bringing out concerns for the football world. While this storm has proved to be challenging for the NFL, it is the New York Jets who especially suffer the consequences with their home turf under question.

Though the players are used to playing in rainy conditions, the next Chargers Vs. Jets game poses new challenges. It is the field that looks to have some blemishes, causing trouble for the game to be played smoothly. There are speculations that the rain might ruin the upcoming clash completely, drawing frustration out of the home side.

The rain has done numbers on MetLife Stadium. There?s nothing wrong with the grass but the maintenance squad might have to work overtime in the end zone without having to even play the game. The white paint from the end-zone looks to be coming off, especially due to the rain pouring down on the stadium.

In a recent tweet by reporter Zack Cox, the end zone looks to be full of footprints. Not only that, but the midfield logo would also seems to need a cosmetic touch in due time. So, what does this mean for the Jets? Since the paint is leaking, it might cause issues later in the game. There might be problems scoring FGs or even kicking the ball, as updated by Cox on his X account.

Not to mention the possibility of getting paint on the face or the eyes. At this point, a dry field would be more appreciated than a badly morphed logo. From the top, it looks like a lot of birds walked on the endzone and painted it with their footprints. But hope remains for the situation to get better till the game time reaches.

Hopefully, it won?t be as disastrous as the September Storm. A ?shelter in place? warning was issued on MNF when the Jets and the Buffalo Bills went to play together, causing alarms to go off all around the NFL world.

The nature poses no immediate threat to the Jets vs. Chargers game as the game is happening tomorrow. The weather report for tomorrow looks clear for the most part, but again, the maintenance has to do a bit of extra work to improve the field. If it rains tomorrow, which seems unlikely, the players will be struggling to keep themselves clean. More importantly, this can hinder the players to perform at their best.

The maintenance might have to redo the whole paint job and cover the field so that the paint doesn?t leak out further. As for the Jets, they might have to concentrate a bit more to beat the LA Chargers because the side just got a lead, and they might not want to give it away that easily.

It’s supposed to be around 69F on the day of the game unless nature chooses to interfere with the sport. Hopefully, the fans and the teams are safe, and we won?t get a ?shelter in place? warning anytime soon.
