The 2023 season was an abysmal one for the New York Giants until the heroics of Tommy DeVito started. QB1 Daniel Jones’ injury forced DeVito to the starter position. The Giants were 2-8 then, but his three starts have landed him at 5-8. But has ‘Cutlet’ done enough to get back into the playoff race?
The 25-year-old has shown impressive leadership and visionary qualities. But his efforts have the Giants hanging by a thread to get to the last spot in the NFC to claim the wildcard spot. But it’s not only on the Giants and DeVito. A lot of results elsewhere need to be in their favor as well. Currently, in the 12th position to seed for the playoffs, it is clear that only their victories will not take them to the 7th spot. Let’s figure out the exact results for the teams so that the Giants can get the wildcard playoff spot.
This can be achieved with just the results in Week 15. But for that to happen, the first and primary thing is that the Giants take care of the New Orleans Saints (11th). The Giants would have improved to 6-8 and the Saints would be 6-8 as well. But the Giants would lead them in conference 5-4 to 4-6 along with having the head-to-head advantage.

Next, the Packers (7th) must lose against the Buccaneers (4th). This puts the Packers’ record to 6-8, once again the Giants will have head-to-head against them. Also, the Packers record in the conference would be 4-6.
The Rams (8th) lose to the Commanders (14th). The Rams will then also be 6-8 but with a weaker conference record of 4-5. Then the Seahawks (9th) will have to lose to the Eagles (5th), putting the Seahawks at 6-8 as well, but with a poor conference record of 5-6.
Lastly, the Falcons (10th) get defeated by the Panthers (out of the playoffs race). This scenario would also put the Falcons at 6-8 but with a conference record of 4-6. Admittedly, this game will be the hardest of all, since the Panthers are on a skid, with only one win in their name this season.

However, if these 5 games have the results as specified, the Giants, with a record of 6-8 and a conference record of 5-4, would instantly jump to the 7th spot to qualify for the wildcard spot. Do you think these games will turn out favorably for the Giants? Let us know in the comments.
