I’ll take it on the chin, you know, I’ll just keep pushing every day,Cam Ward said while talking to the reporters in Indianapolis on Saturday, March 1. It’s on! The college prospects want to show they are the best. In the league, the teams are trying to reach the best position. The race to get the first draft pick is getting intense, especially for the NY Giants (3rd overall pick) and NY Jets (7th overall pick).

Both teams need a solid quarterback on the roster to lead their O-line. The Giants are in the post-Daniel Jones era and currently don’t have a QB on record for 2025. The Jets, meanwhile, have already released Aaron Rodgers with no recognizable names in their QB room. While they can still get DE Abdul Carter or CB/WR Travis Hunter, most fans are excited about QBs, i.e. Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.

According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, both New York teams want to move to the first pick in the upcoming draft. For that, they need to swap places with the Titans, current holders of the no. 1 pick. Their GM Mike Borgonzi has already opened the door for negotiations as he said a few days back, “Draft picks are our biggest form of currency, so when there’s opportunities to trade back to collect more picks, we’re going to do that.

What can the Titans gain? They are expected to rake up some draft capital (picks) for day 2. The NY Giants also have picks no. 34, 66, and day 2 picks that they could offer for grabs if they really want to move up. For the NY Jets, the price could be steeper. Swapping places with the Titans, they are expected to offer pick no. 42 with additional 2026 draft picks.

In case they need to do more, they have plenty of other stars they could include in the trade packages. It includes RB Breece Hall and WR Garrett Wilson who are entering the final year of their contract. But isn’t that a price too much? Are both teams willing to rock their stability to get the top pick? Owners John Mara and Woody Johnson have entrusted their GMs and HCs with the responsibility of sorting out their options.

For the newly appointed NY Jets GM Darren Mougey and HC Aaron Glenn, there are other things to look after as well. After showing A-Rod the exit door, they are now dealing with other potential exits. It’s tough.

What’s your perspective on:

Are the Giants and Jets risking too much for a QB, or is it a smart move?

Have an interesting take?

NY Jets open to trade 2 players

As expected, the first one is their WR Davante Adams. He came to the franchise in 2024 to help his friend, Aaron Rodgers. But the combination flopped. Well, not in relation to the rest of the Jets, but from an objective perspective, it did. The season ended 5-12. Now, that A-Rod is already out, the receiver doesn’t look very excited to stay back with them. So, they are open to trading him before free agency hits on March 12. According to the NFL insider, if they don’t get a deal, they can also cut him and take his $38.3 million cap hit head-on.

While that was expected, a NY Jets reporter dropped another bombshell. Connor J Hughes claimed that the front office isn’t too interested in an extension with CB DJ Reed. His 3-year $33 million contract ended this year. And he will soon become a free agent. That’s a big blow.

Adams contributed in 11 games in the 2024 season with 67 receptions for 854 yards and 7 TDs. Reed performed decently in defense with 1 sack and 64 tackles (52 solo). If both of them leave the franchise, then the GM-HC have a lot more to work upon. The clock is ticking!
