Netflix blew the roof after the airing of its docuseries Quarterback. And now for this summer, the streaming giant in partnership with Peyton Manning and the Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is returning once again. However, the focus of the docuseries will not be QBs but their targets, Receivers.

The show will let the fans witness the on and off-field drama in the life of NFL wide receivers and one tight end. However, Mahomes will be behind the camera as an executive producer this time.

Mahomes with his production company 2 PM Productions worked as the EP for the previous series as well. And the production team of Manning, Omaha Productions is also on the table. The NFL and Netflix will be looking to recapture the fandom of their previous series.

“The natural progression is from a pass to a catch, so we’re excited to dive into the Receiver world after the success of our Quarterback series”, said the VP of nonfiction sports at Netflix to the Hollywood Reporter. With this Netflix will be shelving Quarterback and focus all their efforts on the new series.

Netflix is looking at this new series as the perfect follow-up to their hit docuseries. Receivers will be available for streaming on Netflix in the summer of 2024, though no date has been determined yet. But which players will be on the docuseries?

Netflix looks to build superstars out of receivers

“We look forward to telling the stories of five incredible receivers, each with their unique personality, skillset, and motivation for what drives them to be the best”, said Manning. These receivers come from various teams, backgrounds, and conferences, making the show a must-watch for any football fan. Unlike the first series Quarterback that featured only 3 QBs, namely Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota for eight episodes. Things are increasing this time around!

This time it will be 5 players. Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders, Justin Jefferson from the Minnesota Vikings, TE George Kittle and Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers, and Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions will be the stars of the upcoming show.
