Brian had an underwhelming public perception, especially when Aaron Glenn, Deion Sanders, and Ben Johnson were available. But it’s Jerry Jones at the wheel.

The guy likes making news. Like he should be the talk of Dallas. Well, the problem is he thinks bad publicity is still publicity. And when, right now, Dallas is gripped by the Mavericks-Luka Doncic fiasco, Jones is probably contemplating what his ace in the hole is that will put him back on top. It doesn’t matter if they’re good or bad, the headlines have to be jarring enough. And one reporter is trying to guess what’s on the Cowboys GM’s mind. And it’s twisted, folks.

NFL Staff Writer for The Athletic, Ted Nguyen’s speculations will leave the Cowboys fans spooked: “Jerry has to be Jonesin’ to make a move with these Dallas Maverick headlines. I’d call about Dak right now.” It’s just speculation; why would the fans be scared about losing Dak Prescott? The quarterback ended the season with 1978 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and a 64.7% completion rate.

Who knows what Jerry Jones will do? They are supposed to bolster the offensive department with a wide receiver and a running back. It’s a dire need for them. But that’s not headline-worthy for Jerry Jones. Promoting an OC to the HC role because of his connection with Prescott, only to trade Prescott away, is just the thing that will get the pandemonium started.

It’s still all speculation. But, with Jerry, anything is possible if it’s catchy enough for the media. Like the latest recruitment news – relevant news, but it won’t take the news agencies by storm.

Jerry Jones decides on a Running Backs coach

Weeks of speculation have finally culminated in the Cowboys hiring Derrick Foster to be the next Running Backs (RB) coach. Foster was with the Saints in 2024, and before that, he was with the Chargers for 3 seasons. How successful will this recruitment be? Time will tell. For now, with Foster in, the Cowboys will be planning for the free agency and the 3-day 2025 NFL Draft.

The Foster decision comes after the Cowboys had interviewed Oregon RBs coach Ra’shaad Samples and Tashard Choice of the Texas Longhorns. While the fans were excited about the options, reports were that Jones was asking the candidates to take a pay cut to join the team. The fans were not happy to hear this. However, things may have just worked out for now, as Foster is equally valued as Choice and Samples.

But still a lot of holes to plug. And will Jerry be able to control himself? What the Cowboys don’t need now is a Mavericks-Doncic flashback, but NFL-themed.
