The Cleveland Browns management didn’t waste any time after their brutal 3-14 season. After getting smacked 35-10 by the Ravens, the message was clear: some things have to change, and fast. Within hours, OC Ken Dorsey and offensive line coach Andy Dickerson were outta there. Let’s be real here, it had been a season full of missed chances and frustration, and with all that pressure, the coaches were the first ones to take the fall.
According to Albert Breer, Dorsey’s firing was expected. “The Cleveland offensive staff had some issues meshing concepts all year. And changes meant to help Deshaun Watson never took root, with Watson down early in the season,” Breer said. Dorsey tried blending his style with Stefanski’s, but it just didn’t work, especially with Watson being out for so much of the season.

The O-line also took a major hit. The Browns went from being one of the top teams in the league with the run game to struggling just to get any push. With Watson sidelined, they tried four different quarterbacks, but none of them really clicked. Even Jameis Winston had a few solid games, but turnovers kept holding them back. It was clear the offense needed a serious revamp.

So now, the Browns have to figure out what’s next. They will need a new offensive coordinator, a new O-line coach, to keep up in 2025. It’s gonna be a huge offseason for them if they want to turn things around.
Late pushes and playoff dreams
While the Browns were struggling, some teams found their rhythm in the second half of the season. The Seattle Seahawks, after a tough start, managed to get back on track, but unfortunately, they missed the playoffs by a hair. Geno Smith really showed up, but it wasn’t enough to punch their ticket to the postseason.

On the flip side, the Green Bay Packers found their groove after a rough first half of the season. With Jordan Love stepping up, they got things clicking and made a strong push for the playoffs. It was a solid turnaround that helped them grab a spot in the postseason.
These comebacks show that even after a rough start, there’s always hope. With the right moves, the Browns could find a way to bounce back and make 2025 their year.
