The Cardinals traded Joshua Dobbs to the Minnesota Vikings as QB after the former QB Kirk Cousins suffered an Achilles injury. However, he barely got a few days to analyze the team’s strategies as the week 9 match against the Atlanta Falcons approached soon after. Fortunately, though, it turned out well for Dobbs and he managed to display his skills exceptionally.

In fact, the QB led the Vikings to win against the Falcons with a high-strung 28-31 performance. Despite being new to the Vikings team environment, he managed 2 touchdowns during the match. Following this remarkable display of skills, he got the new nickname ‘Passtronaut’. What’s more, he received it in the form of a congratulatory message from the NASA Research Center.

Joshua Dobbs was already flying high after his win against the Falcon. Now, he got another reason to be on cloud nine after receiving a message from the NASA research center. NASA took to their X account to congratulate the player for his week 9 victory and stunning performance Additionally, they commented on his new nickname ‘Passtronaut’.

Appreciating his performance, the account wrote, “Looks like you rock(et) on and off field”. This was with reference to the degree he holds in aerospace engineering and the brilliant match the NFL world got to witness between the Vikings and the Falcons. But, the puns did not end there! NASA futher added, “We heard you’ve even got a new nickname, the “Passtronaut”. If the suit fits, wear it”

Interestingly, though, the origin of this new nickname came from the throw he made same which led to a great passing touchdown with 22 seconds left in the fourth quarter leading the Vikings to ace the victory. This skill and name of Josh Dobbs was even appreciated by Pat McAfee on his show.

In his show, he appeared to be totally in favor of the nickname; so much so that it even led him to imitate a ‘dive in’ action and call it a “great name.” Additionally, he believed that the nickname is going to stick on the show for Dobbs, atleast either till he tell them not to or “he hates it.” Nonetheless, one thing is for sure, the performance this week has raised expectations for the upcoming games of the Vikings.

Josh Dobbs to enter week 10 with a lot of expectations

Dobbs replaced Jaren Hall, who suffered a concussion against the Falcons and led the team to a 31-28 comeback. Well, now he has set the expectations high after his debut match with the Vikings. However, he has a week for practice this time before entering week 10 against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

QB Josh Dobbs is to face off against the Saints who are entering the battle after a sneaking win over Chicago Bears last week. However, the Vikings have now consecutively won four matches and five overall this season. This has allowed them to hold the second berth in the NFC North and 7th in the NFC.

Now, as all eyes remain on Josh Dobbs and Vikings and their clash with the Orleans, it will be interesting to see if the 28-year-old QB will be able to capitalize his skills once again.
