It was 12 years ago when a mass shooting in Sandy Hook Elementary School shook the world. 26 innocent people lost their lives and the shocking incident received widespread attention across the world. On Thursday, Aaron Rodgers took to social media to share a heartfelt message for the victims of the Sandy Hook incident. On X, Rodgers wrote, “As I’m on the record saying in the past, what happened in Sandy Hook was an absolute tragedy. I am not and have never been of the opinion that the events did not take place.” The New York Jets’ quarterback also sent his sincere condolences to the victims and their families.

Aaron Rodgers further wrote, “Again, I hope that we learn from this and other tragedies to identify the signs that will allow us to prevent unnecessary loss of life. My thoughts and prayers continue to remain with the families affected along with the entire Sandy Hook community.” The shooting took away the lives of 26 people, 20 children and 6 adults.

The incident took place in Newton, Connecticut, and the total number of fatalities was 28, including the perpetrator and his mother. Aaron Rodgers’ wholehearted message comes amidst a piece of interesting news related to the Jets quarterback.

Aaron Rodgers entering politics?

It was recently revealed that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was considering Aaron Rodgers to be one of his running mates during his presidential campaign. Rodgers and former professional wrestler and Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura are the two frontrunners RFK Jr. is considering at the moment. About Aaron Rodgers, RFK Jr. said, “And we want somebody young who’s going to look out for that generation. Aaron Rodgers is battle-tested. He’s stood up. He’s been hammered by the press, stood up for things we believe in. I like that part of his character.”

Who knows, we might soon see Rodgers in an eminent political role, just like we are used to seeing him dominate the gridiron.
