Even former President Jimmy Carter, at the age of 99, initiated home hospice care in February following a series of brief hospital stays. The Carters, recognized as the longest-married presidential couple, marked their 77th wedding anniversary in July. But unfortunately, months later, Carter’s wife left him alone. Arthur M. Blank was devastated by this news and thus, issued a statement in her honor. He wrote, “I join those across the world in mourning the loss of the beloved former first lady, Rosalynn Carter, and send my deepest condolences to my treasured friend, President Jimmy Carter, on the loss of his dear wife and best friend of 77 years, a marriage that exemplified true love and partnership.”

He also added how she was an inspiration to him, as he said, “It was a great honor to know her and learn from her while working alongside as a board member of The Carter Center, and I consider her one of the greatest role models of our time.” Maybe it is from her learnings that Blank has been able to run his foundation for the betterment of the world, throughout these years.

Blank Foundation has taken a new direction from this year onwards

On Wednesday, the Blank Foundation revealed a new logo and a forward-looking strategy amid an acceleration in its philanthropic efforts. Significantly, these announcements shed light on Arthur Blank’s foresight, emphasizing the pivotal role his six children play in shaping the foundation’s future trajectory.

The foundation, now led by President Fay Twersky, has also undergone a meticulous multiyear strategic planning process resulting in the identification of five key areas for primary giving over the next decade: Atlanta’s Westside, Democracy, Environment, Mental Health and Well-Being, and Youth Development.
