The Seattle Seahawks have been a source of consistent trouble for the Philadelphia Eagles. The Seahawks surged past Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offense and came out as the winners with a final score of 20-17. This game broke the 4 game-loss streak of the Seahawks, thanks to Drew Lock and Co.

While it’s difficult to rally against a team like the Eagles, Drew Lock took up the challenge and became the face of this hard-earned win. Hurts looks to have a lot of matters to fix before the next clash against the Giants. However, before that, post today’s game, some interesting facts about the Seahawks and Eagles rivalry have come out.

Since January 2011, the Philadelphia Eagles have never won a game against the Seattle Seahawks. This became the Eagles’ 8 straight loss against the Seattle side. There were a lot of expectations from Jalen Hurts. However, those expectations didn’t receive the right result as he got intercepted twice and failed to make a mark during the game the Eagles lost with a 3-point deficit.

Jalen Hurts was in the MVP race; however, this game might affect his chances of becoming the MVP this year. He was unable to prove his mettle in the game and this loss might cost the Eagles in the longer run. The Eagles have lost 3 games in a row now and have lost their top spot in the NFC East rankings. The Cowboys lead the board with a 10-4 record now.

The ending moments of the game were packed with excitement as the rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba stole the spotlight with his only touchdown and led the Seahawks to a much-needed win. Jalen Hurts couldn’t live up to his reputation and came out with abysmal numbers after the game concluded. Safe to say Drew Lock has earned his spot in Geno Smith’s absence and did slightly better than his counterpart, Jalen Hurts. This game will raise questions about the Philadelphia team’s offense, especially Hurts overall though.

Questions around Jalen Hurts’ MVP candidacy

Hurts was only able to complete 54.8% of his passes and made 17 out of 31 of them for 143 yards. He came out with 2 interceptions, that ended up costing the Eagles. Again, the Eagles relied on Jake Elliott to get the kicks right. Despite the Eagles having more overall yards than the Seahawks, their ability to score TD in the red zone remains a big concern. It was a do-or-die situation for both, and the Seahawks got the best out of it.

Speaking of the Seattle team, the last TD pass to Smith-Njigba had the fans jumping from their seats. The desperate attempt worked when the Seahawks QB Drew Lock threw a 29-yard pass to Smith-Njigba with 28 seconds remaining on the clock. Also, we cannot forget that insane catch DK Metcalf made on Seattle’s 3 down. That was a game-winning catch that set the Seahawks on the right trajectory.
