The Mahomes family knows how to stay in the headlines. While Patrick Mahomes sharpens his game plan for a high-stakes matchup against the Cleveland Browns, Randi checked a big item off her bucket list.
Patrick’s mom, Randi, and brother, Jackson, took New York by storm this weekend. Randi capped off the weekend making memories and sharing laughs with her son at Saturday Night Live. Randi couldn’t hide her excitement as she shared a post on X, saying, “Saturday Night Live!! New York City bucket list ✔️ @jacksonmahomes @nbcsnl.”

Saturday Night Live!! New York City bucket list ✔️ @jacksonmahomes @nbcsnl

Randi Mahomes didn’t just attend Saturday Night Live—she lived it. As is evident on her social media accounts. Be it X or Instagram. Their trip to the iconic comedy show was an unforgettable experience, especially with the 50th anniversary season in full swing. The December 15 SNL was hosted by none other than comedy legend Chris Rock. The sketches? Surreal.
Rock was hosting SNL for the fourth time. And his monologue touched on a variety of topics, including humorous digs at former presidents and a nod to figures like Elon Musk. The evening also included sketches such as a spoof about a mall Santa photo op. The event included a hilarious segment where Rock’s character got a funny Simpsons-style makeover. Also, the musical guest for the night was Gracie Abrams.
However, the Mahomes family’s charm even lit up social media earlier. Randi commented “Adorable ♥️” on a Chiefs holiday concert video featuring kids serenading Patrick Mahomes. Sports Center posted the clip on IG. And the kids’ playful twist on a classic Christmas jingle cemented Patrick’s place as the “most famous quarterback of all.”
As Randi and Jackson savored their NYC adventure, Patrick geared up for an entirely different kind of performance.
Patrick Mahomes faces Myles Garrett and the Browns
While Randi was checking off bucket list moments, Patrick Mahomes prepared for a much tougher challenge. Myles Garrett and the Browns’ ferocious defense. On Sunday, Mahomes will lead the Kansas City Chiefs into Cleveland in their week 15 game. And they would look to outsmart Garrett, a defensive player par excellence. Garrett has amassed 11 sacks and 29 solo tackles through 13 games.
“You can’t let him [Garrett] just pass rush over and over,” Mahomes told reporters. “We’ll throw him changeups; we’ll throw him different pitches that he can hopefully keep his mind racing, but at the end of the day, he’s going to make plays happen. When he starts to win reps or win certain plays, you have to not make them negative plays; get rid of the football, even if that’s throwing it away, and live to play another play.” Mahomes’s confession is a testament to the value Garrett brings to his team. However, Garrett isn’t the only threat waiting for Mahomes and co.

Despite the Browns’ disappointing performance this season (stranded at 3-10), their defense ranks among the league’s toughest. Cornerback Denzel Ward has contributed significantly with 41 solo tackles, ranking 53rd among linebackers. He also has 10 assists and 1 sack under his name. And his presence adds versatility to Cleveland’s secondary. The speedy linebacker unit and an adaptable secondary make this a formidable group. And Mahomes agrees.
“They’ve got a lot of great players,” Mahomes noted, adding, “It’s a great team with a lot of pride that’s going to be coming (and) playing hard, especially at home, and we understand that it’s going to be a great challenge.”
