We all know the struggles and efforts Randi Mahomes put into her child’s growth despite being a divorced mother. Out of multiple barriers, the mom of three recalled one on Monday’s shared update. The 53-year-old appeared to attend a quick interview on ‘Athlete Parenting‘, where she recited how she had to take a nap in the car so that Patrick Mahomes got the full time to practice.

Yes! Randi Mahomes expressed, “It’s the takeover between driving a far distance to these tournaments that last all day, all night it seems like, to taking little naps in my car in between games, letting the kids play but, you know, taking naps, other parents helping out. So it’s a lot of teamwork that goes into it.” This reflects the Grim Reaper’s mom’s hard work behind his success.

Now momma Mahomes feels happy and proud to see where her son Patrick Mahomes has reached. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t miss those old days. While expressing her longing for it, Randi Mahomes said, “It takes over your life. And so I just learned to enjoy. And I look back now and I’m like, I missed that. I would do anything to go back to those every weekend of the month tournaments, because now I look back and it was a really special time in my life. One-on-one with my kids. It was pretty magical.” Definitely, Patrick Mahomes’s mom has been a cornerstone of his journey.

From guiding him to choose football, encouraging him to finish school, and being his best friend, Randi did it all. Even as a single mom, she worked two jobs to support her kids financially. Because of all these struggles, her dedication has paid off. Patrick now ranks second in the post-game wins by a QB (17) after Tom Brady (35).

Hence, Randi and the Mahomes family posed together at Arrowhead Stadium to celebrate Patrick Mahomes’s record along with the Chiefs’ victory in the AFC.

Patrick Mahomes’s playoff win soon turned into a heartwarming family moment. Right after leading the Chiefs to the 2025 Super Bowl game with the AFC championship win over the Bills, the QB celebrated with his loved ones. His parents, Randi Mahomes and Pat Mahomes Sr., along with his brother Jackson and sister Mia, joined him & Brittany Mahomes at Arrowhead Stadium. And if you look at their faces, you will easily witness the pride they had in their eyes. In addition, Jackson couldn’t hold back his excitement, posting a picture with the caption, “SUPERBOWL TIME!!!” on his social media.

Even though Randi and Pat separated in 2006, they’ve always been there for their kids. That’s why the couple keeps on attending important matchups of Patrick Mahomes. Sharing her emotions, Randi too, later said, “All glory to God for this incredible opportunity to witness history in the making. So grateful to watch you pour your heart into what you love, son!” That’s right. It’s not every day one plays for 3 peat in the NFL.

Patrick Mahomes has always been open about how much his parents inspired him. In a past interview with NFL Network that he gave in 2023, Mahomes said, “I think both my parents just really taught me how to follow my dreams. I think that was the biggest thing. They didn’t care if I was an athlete. They didn’t care where I was going. They just told me to follow my dreams, do whatever I could to have no regrets at the end of the day.” He is certainly chasing his dreams.

So, now as the Chiefs are heading for the rare 3-peat this season, his parents’s support proves how much it has shaped Patrick Mahomes. The extent to which he is now being hailed as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the league.
