Sharing the struggles and doubts, Momma Donna Kelce joined a group of influential women, achieving a new title.

The 71-year-old mom of football stars Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce recently appeared in Glamour’s 2024 Women of the Year: The Moms issue, on October 3, 2024. She joined “Beyoncé mom Tina Knowles; Billie Eilish’ mom Maggie Baird; and Selena Gomez’s mom Mandy Teefey,” to talk about the fame, the struggles which come with it, and more.

While discussing her struggles, and what she misses the most after the fame, Donna Kelce said, “We can’t go anywhere, really. If we want to do something, you have to rent out the restaurant or the movie theater or whatever. I do get to sneak away every once in a while, and we go to places that nobody knows where they are.” Not only that! She further explained that while she is grateful for all the fame and fans’ love, sometimes it creates an issue for her. It’s especially “when somebody tries to take a picture of you in the bathroom, ‘I’m like, whoa.’”

Nevertheless, Donna Kelce is happy to see her sons living their life. However, in this, she makes sure that both the stars remain grounded, as she doubted their NFL potential and fame. Talking about raising her sons, she explained that she often reminds them of their childhood, mentioning things like broken windows and calls from neighbors. Momma explained that they weren’t bad kids, just full of energy and always on the move.

By bringing up those memories, the mother of two said it helps her sons stay grounded and remember the foundation that shaped who they are today, giving them a platform to grow into the successful men they’ve become. So, yeah, during this exclusive interview, the retired banking executive admitted being a mom is the hardest job she has ever done, especially being a single momma.

Donna Kelce struggled after divorce!

While opening up about her personal past life, Donna Kelce revealed what she went through during the struggling period of her marriage and post-divorce. In the same interview, she opened up about the choices she made during her marriage to Ed Kelce.

With a fierce work ethic, Donna Kelce worked hard as a commercial banker. She was determined to show her sons, Jason and Travis Kelce, “that women can achieve anything.” as shared by her on her Instagram story. Furthermore, she wanted them to see her strength and independence firsthand. But behind closed doors, things weren’t easy for her. This was because of her now-broken marriage.

Donna and Ed stayed together for years, but they knew that their marriage wasn’t working. And hence, they made the difficult decision to stay for the sake of their boys. For momma Donna Kelce, that falling marriage meant standing still, holding on, and waiting until the time was right to move forward. And the right time came for her when after their sons graduated from college, the former couple decided to part ways. However, their bond remained friendly, and together, they focused on giving Jason and Travis Kelce the most normal life possible.

Now, keeping up their promise, they still showed up, side by side, at their sons’ NFL games. And as now Eagles‘ star Jason Kelce has retired, the former couple’s focus is to support Chiefs TE in his games. They indeed always put their children first, no matter what!
