In the final game of the 2024 NFL season, on January 5, 2025, Trubisky stepped in for the Buffalo Bills against the New England Patriots. He threw for 101 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his readiness to support the team when called upon. Despite his efforts, the Bills fell short, losing 23–16 to the Patriots. Each stint brought its own set of challenges and learning opportunities for him. 

According to Buffalo News, Mitchell signed a one-year deal with the Bills earlier this offseason to provide backup depth behind Allen. Though he may not be in a QB1 spotlight, insiders like NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero have called the move “a strategic fit,” emphasizing Mitchell’s strong relationship with the Bills’ coaching staff and locker room rapport. As Pelissero noted, “He knows the system, and more importantly, the locker room trusts him.”

When Mitchell Trubisky rejoined the Buffalo Bills, Hillary expressed her excitement on Instagram by posting a photo of the couple at Bills training camp with the caption: “Back to Buffalo.
