Travis Kelce is everyone’s favourite coconut, tough on the outside but a softie on the inside. And in the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, the 34-year-old choked up when recalling an incident that happened a few days ago.

The two did not get to address the incident publicly ever since the presser. But in the podcast, things got real. Kelce couldn’t hold back his tears when he thought of an NFL without his brother in it.

Travis Kelce unable to hold back his tears

Travis started, “We did not talk about much of your retirement and I wanted to make sure that you, um, didn’t feel any pressure from me to keep going. And know that I wanted you to keep going.” He went back to March 4, when on a podium, Kelce announced that after 13 long seasons playing football, he was finally calling it quits.

But apparently, he would’ve changed his mind if his younger brother would have persuaded him. “Dude, why didn’t you tell me? I would’ve changed my mind.” From his voice, it seemed that he was only joking. But Travis was serious and said, “No, no, no,” pensively. And at this, he choked up with tears. He was finding it hard to utter words.

“In this game alone, you’ve always been a step ahead of me and it’s always been like I’ve had that floatation device right there,” Travis Kelce said, becoming emotional. “To have you out of it man, it feels empty. And it definitely feels like it’s complete, you know, it was a success.”

Kelce’s journey has really swung back to where it all began, and with him hanging up his cleats, it’s not like he’s about to kick back and relax. Just moments before dropping this bombshell, he shared something that took everyone by surprise. “Listen, Kylie is apparently pregnant with our fourth child. It’s a boy.” His brother was totally caught off guard, blurting out, “What? No way.” This was followed up with, “In this made-up universe” he sighed. The banter between the two was in reference to a viral rumor going round that his wife Kelce was pregnant.

Kylie and Jason Kelce are already parents to three little girls – Wyatt, who’s 4, Elliotte, who’s nearing her second birthday, and Bennett, just over the one-year mark. Before fatherhood, Jason vowed not to play favorites between sons and daughters, “I don’t think that you should treat kids necessarily different. And then when I had a daughter, I was like, ‘I’m not going to spoil her, I’m going to raise her tough. She’s going to be hard.’ And the moment she came out, I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s not going to work.”

Jason Kelce will have a lot more time to give his beautiful daughters now that he’s retired from the sport and can root his brother Travis on from the sidelines. With their podcast gaining more and more popularity, the antics within the Kelce household are likely going to be made more accessible to fans, even if they don’t include Kelce’s imaginary son in the background.
