Can Tyreek Hill back up his 'fastest NFL player' claim against IShowSpeed's challenge?

You want me to set the record straight? The Cheetah is still the fastest, no matter what.” Interestingly, it is Miami Dolphins’ star wide receiver, Tyreek Hill himself who vouches for the claim by this statement of his. Clocking an eye-popping 23.24 miles per hour on a kick return, Hill in his 2016 rookie season made waves in the league.

As the professional athlete still dominates the speed chart of the league as that is a record not broken to date, it seems there is someone who thinks can beat Hill on the track field, and that someone isn’t from the NFL world. Popular streamer and rapper, IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., has recently challenged Hill and his “Cheetah” speed.

According to a video game and entertainment news website, Dexerto, on July 30, 2024, “IShowSpeed announced he will be racing the fastest NFL player, Tyreek Hill, this week.” The race is reportedly scheduled to happen on Thursday, August 1, 2024. As the $10 million worth streamer’s public name boasts speed in it, it would be interesting to see if he shows actual speed while racing against the NFL star, who is widely regarded as the fastest player in the league.

But the question is how come Watkins came across this idea of defeating Hill when the two are in different work areas. So, the backdrop of this story is that in February of this year, the YouTube sensation met Tyreek Hill at the Power Slap 6 event. There he challenged Hill, “I am the real Speed… until you beat me you are not the fastest man alive.”

Hearing this, another YouTuber, Kai Cenat, who accompanied IShowSpeed at the event, playfully admitted that he would bet any amount of money on Watkins if this race happened. Feeling underestimated, Hill expressed, “How about we race?” and the millionaire streamer was immediately down for the challenge. And now, the time has come!

However, let’s not forget that this re-threatening from Speed came shortly after Tyreek Hill lost to his own teammate Jaylen Waddle in a race. And all Hill could do was to brush off his loss recently.

Tyreek Hill thinks his teammate cheated!

Can Tyreek Hill back up his 'fastest NFL player' claim against IShowSpeed's challenge?

Have an interesting take?

The dynamic duo of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle has brought electrifying speed to the Miami Dolphins offense. While Tyreek is known for clocking 23.24 mph in his rookie season, on the other hand, Waddle, who loves Hill, set a record by hitting 21.80 mph on a 57-yard gain in his rookie season in 2021. Now, by seeing the stats it seems like Hill would win if these two star players face off in a race. But surprisingly, that was not the case!

When the race did take place, even though Hill’s takeoff speed was unparalleled, it was Waddle who won the race. Then what? Hill wasn’t happy with the results, as he playfully claimed that Waddle cheated, saying he had a false start in that race.

However, despite losing to the 25-year-old, the senior WR Hill showed some love to his team member by counting him in the Dolphins’ hypothetical 4×100 meter relay team. He said, “Well, obviously I’m putting (myself) first, man. My start is tremendous. Then I’m gonna go with my guy Raheem Mostert at two, Waddle at the three, and (De’Von) Achane at the four. Ethan Bonner, that’s my alternate.

Well, when put that way, the Dolphins surely seem to have more of a marathon going on than a competitive race!
