Is Brett Favre right about aging, or can legends like Tyson still defy the odds?

So at last it’s the fight night. One of the most anticipated nights in the sports entertainment industry since the event got announced, it’s Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul and the stakes couldn’t get any bigger for either of them. All eyes are on this match as both face off at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas. Like everyone else, NFL legend Brett Favre is also viewing this game. However, seeing a 58-year-old guy take on someone almost half his age has got Favre to confront his own reality.

The ex-Packers QB posted on his X, asking if anyone was watching this matchup. However, along with it, he added that he can’t imagine taking hits from an NFL linebacker at the age of 58. He said, “My body couldn’t take the punishment now”.

Favre went on to say that “time is undefeated” or else no one would have ever stopped competing. After Jake Paul emerged victorious in the fight, Favre congratulated both the contestants, mentioning that he was “glad that Tyson didn’t get hurt”. He also pointed out that it seemed as if the young boxer could have done much worse to the 58-year-old but chose to hold back.

Favre went sentimental, but the Ex-Broncos CB got dubious

So finally the match is over and we have an answer to the “Who will win between Tyson and Paul?”. The 27-year-old boxer defeated the 58-year-old world champion and answered all his critics. Although this fight was loved, spectated, and supported by many, few raised questions about its legitimacy. One of the names on that list was former NFL cornerbacker, Dominique Foxworth. His sentiments were quite different from that of Brett Favre.

Have an interesting take?

Before the fight, in a recent episode of the “Foxworthshow”, the ex-CB suggested something similar. Accordingly, though the punches both the contestants throw in this fight would be real, this ‘sanctioned match’ would most likely be choreographed. Foxworth added, “This is not legitimate. But it’s real in the sense they’re going to be hitting each other. And that’s all it takes for me to watch it!”

Don’t know about the 41-year-old ex-CB, but the fight sure seemed to be pretty real. Each round was of 2 mins each and Paul won all three of them Paul 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73. This fight was originally scheduled on July 20 but as Mike Tyson suffered a medical emergency during his flight from Miami to LA, the game was postponed. And it surely couldn’t have gone any better for the young boxer.
