The Pittsburgh Steelers put on a show tonight at Acrisure Stadium. This time, Kenny Pickett was not at the forefront of this win; rather, it was Mason Rudolph. It seems like Rudolph has gained quite a reputation for himself for quite some time. The people made sure that the 28-year-old knew how much they loved him. After all this, one would think that his position as a starter would be permanent, but that’s far from the truth.

Mike Tomlin appeared in the presser after the game and spilled his plans. From what Tomlin said, it can be inferred that Mason Rudolph’s position as a starter is not guaranteed as of yet. However, coming from the kind of game he had today, his performance sure builds a strong case for him.

The Steelers QB1 Kenny Pickett underwent a ‘Tight Rope’ surgery on his ankle a couple of weeks ago, due to which he is not participating in the Steelers games. As his replacement, the Steelers gave Mason Rudolph a chance. Upon being asked about the permanence of Rudolph’s spot, head coach, Mike Tomlin gave an answer that left everyone hanging.

The reporter admitted that the question he was about to ask was too early. He asked Mike Tomlin, “Would you be sticking with Mason in Seattle?”. Mike Tomlin, being too straightforward, had this to say: “You’re right, it is too early to ask.” His answers were succinct, but the meaning behind them was as clear as day.

The thing is, Kenny Picket is a limited participant in the Steelers’ practice sessions, but his recovery timeline is still not disclosed. It’s been about three weeks since his surgery, and he is practicing, but it would be far-fetched to think that Pickett will play anytime soon. Despite his absence, Mason Rudolph was able to fill the gap and get the people in the Acrisure Stadium to cheer for him.

It was the 4 quarter, and the Steelers were 31-11, as they were taking their time in the hurdle, and one could very well hear the crowd chanting “Mason Rudolph!” in the background.
