The Pittsburgh Steelers faced an embarrassing loss against one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. This happened on their home turf, and the Steelers’ roster suffered some injuries on the way. First, TJ Watt took a knee to his face but then returned after a while. However, now, there is some news about the Steelers’ OLB Alex Highsmith.
Mike Tomlin came forward in the post-game presser and gave the media much-needed revelations about today’s game and what the Steelers could have done better to snatch it from the Pats.

Alex Highsmith took one for the team
Tomlin mentioned in the presser that Highsmith couldn’t return to the game because he suffered a “neck injury of some description.” During a run by the Patriots, the Steelers’ OLB was knocked down and was slow to get up. He was then taken to the medical tent for further evaluation. The trainers helped him get up before he could finally walk alone.
Following the loss, Tomlin feels that the team missed out on the opportunity to convert on turnovers and even turned the ball over. This came as a major setback for the Steelers as the Pats didn’t miss a chance to take the lead. Added to that Kenny Pickett’s injury, the team didn’t play how it should have played.

The Steelers HC said that he wanted the team to play aggressively, but they were not able to do the same. He also mentioned that the Pats did a pretty good job early on in the game and gave the credit where it was due. The coach said that the team performed better as the game went on. But unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time to cope with the lead.
Mitch Trubisky, although a better QB than Zappe on paper, didn’t have the game that Tomlin and the team expected him to have.

Mitch Trubisky had a dismal performance
The Steelers QB fell short of exceeding his counterpart, Bailey Zappe. Trubisky had 22 completed passes out of 35 attempts he made. Moreover, only completed 62.9% of his passes. He was sacked twice and was intercepted once throughout the game. The one touchdown he had wasn’t enough for the Steelers to win the game.
