Are Jerry Jones' flashy moves more of a distraction or a morale booster for the Cowboys?

Don’t you dare compare Jerry Jones to an old man even though he is 81 years old while handling the Cowboys’ day-to-day affairs? Having played an integral role in shaping America’s team, Jones seems to have a bit of Hollywood in himself. In this week’s training, Jones pulled out a helicopter to watch his team practice this week.

Well, Jones doesn’t shy away from making everything a spectacle. Just look at Dak Prescott’s $240 million contract that brought down the jaws of many in Dallas. But this time, he stole the limelight after landing his helicopter in practice, which led to head coach Mike McCarthy sharing a light-hearted joke. Speaking to the reporters after practice, McCarthy expressed, “Well, hey, let’s be honest, he was almost late for practice. I thought I was going to have to get on his a–.”

Although the Dallas head coach thought about whopping some a–, it wouldn’t be possible as Jones towers over everyone in the franchise. His leadership has turned the Cowboys into one of the most valuable franchises in the NFL, standing at $11 billion. But going back to his entrance in Dallas, ex-NFL player Emmanuel Acho was seemingly distracted whenever Jones used to come with his helicopter. As shared by his official X account, the FS1 analyst said, “I’ve been there though, bro, it is a distraction.”

Acho also spoke about how he always knew Jones was in the building by seeing his helicopter outside. However, based on Acho’s time working for the Cowboys, he never saw Jones landing the helicopter during the practice, which remains a first. But Acho wasn’t the only one distracted by Jones pulling off an entrance right out of a movie.

As newly added defensive end, KJ Henry shared, “Immediately, I was asking guys. Is this an everyday thing? I mean, this is real Dallas-like.” Although this doesn’t happen every day, for Jones, this is not the first time he has found himself making the news for his antics.

Have an interesting take?

Going back a few weeks, Jones had the fans perplexed when he started talking about one of his player’s privates on stream. Well, it was American actor Jamie Foxx’s Instagram Live, where Jones shared, “He looked pretty good right there. He showed balance. 5-foot-9 and a half, 210 pounds. 4.41 40-yard dash time. Nine and 3-inch hands.” Although it looked like Jones was reading through NFL combine stats, his statistics suddenly got a wayward turn.

As Jones continued, “Eight and a half inch d—.” This led Foxx to quickly end the stream in order to avoid Instagram live policy violations. Although the video made rounds on the internet, Jones was rather sceptical to accept its legitimacy. Sharing his thoughts on 105.3 The Fan, the Cowboys GM said, “He’s a great friend. We have had a lot of experience watching players, talking about players, talking games. It’s just ironic, I think, when that was supposed to have happened a few years back. But I don’t recall it.”

Is the Cowboys owner growing old, not remembering a funny incident? Or is he just shy of owning it as a joke? Well, we may never know, but Jones surely knows how to capture the attention of people, whether it’s through talking or arriving in style at practice.
