Dallas Cowboys are trying to finish the season at a good place comparatively. They defeated the Commanders 34-26 in the week 12 game. But their QB Cooper Rush injured his knee during the game. Head coach Mike McCarthy is keeping an eye on his injured players. He gave an update on November 25.
The HC informed the reporters that the signal caller was showing progress in the injury and said, “He’s got some work to do but I think we’re going to be fine.” That’s great. He was their replacement quarterback for the season as Dak Prescott was out with an injury. Against the Commanders, Rush had 24 of 32 passes in 247 yards and 2 touchdowns, which allowed them to win the game. But things aren’t looking good for one of their tight ends.

TE Jake Ferguson is still under concussion protocol. He might be out of the next one or two games. The HC is working under intense pressure here. There isn’t much time left for the Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Giants. Mike McCarthy is ready and assessing his options.
While there are 2 days left before the game, LG Tyler Smith and CB Trevon Diggs have returned to practice. That’s a positive sign for the team. The WR CeeDee Lamb also had limited participation in the game because of a back and foot injury. But as the game day approaches, chances are that most of these ‘limited’ participants would be fully fit to get on the gridiron. It’s week 13 of the season. And against the Giants. the Cowboys are looking like a better team.

“It was great to get some wind under our wings, but this Thursday’s game comes on you so fast. It really does. That’s really where my mind is and my heart is, too. We really need this game,” the HC said when asked if he was ready for the game against the Big Blue.
After the victory over Commanders, he definitely is. The Giants have struggled way more than the America’s Team. They are on a 6-game losing streak and have overall a 2-9 win-loss record. That’s a whole different struggle for them. The Cowboys had their fair share of problems like injuries to players, but they still have 4 wins and 7 losses.

The last time, they played against each other was week 4 when the Giants lost the game 15-20. This might be a revenge game for them, but it would be a surprise for the fans if they win. This season has been full of struggles for them as well. They released Daniel Jones and the replacement QB Tommy DeVito hasn’t been a leader on the field.
The coach was right. There is a long way to go if the Cowboys really want to finish the season on a high. It’s high time now.
