When it comes to controversies, Micah Parsons isn’t a stranger. He’s quite vocal about everything on this podcast, The Edge with Micah Parsons. But this time, his unfiltered opinions trickled down to the Dallas Cowboys locker room. His statement after the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles has the Cowboys fans running around in circles.
Jori Epstein’s report might make it feel like Micah Parsons was taking shots at the Cowboys HC, Mike McCarthy, after the 6-34 blowout loss against the Eagles. Apparently, America’s team’s LB is more worried about the players on the team than he’s about the head coach. Check out what Jori Epstein has to say on X.
The Yahoo reporter started off by saying, “Micah Parsons said coaches aren’t his top worry as Cowboys season spirals,” and then transitioned to Micah Parsons’s statement after the game. Parsons holds the Cowboys guard Zack Martin in high regard and now that his contract is ending with the Cowboys, Parsons feels upset about the Cowboys season “spiraling down.” After the loss to the Eagles, the Cowboys have slipped to 3-6.

Micah Parsons said coaches aren’t his top worry as Cowboys season spirals.

“Mike can leave and go wherever he wants. Guys, I kind of feel bad for (are) guys like Zack Martin & guys who might be in their last year or on their way out. Because that’s who I wanted to hold the trophy for. You want to win games & do great things with those types of legends who put in more time and work than Mike McCarthy ever did,” Parsons said after the game.
Parsons has “sympathy” and “hurts” for Martin having to leave the team without winning the Lombardi trophy. It’s difficult to interpret what Micah Parsons meant by his statement. However, the Cowboys LB sacked Hurts twice in the game and also had two solo tackles and a lone tackle for loss.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Mike McCarthy losing control of the Cowboys locker room, or is Parsons overstepping his bounds?
Have an interesting take?
After all this, do you think Parsons was taking shots at McCarthy? Maybe he means that McCarthy can find a job anywhere as the head coach, but for Zack Martin, the clock is running out. Martin is listed to play in the next season but may also choose to retire after this season. Who knows? The thing is, Parsons making such a statement out in the open doesn’t inspire much confidence in Mike McCarthy.
So, what does Mike McCarthy think about the loss?
Mike McCarthy’s take on the Dallas Cowboys loss to the Eagles
Before we get into that, do you think Mike McCarthy has lost the locker room? The reason behind this question is the Cowboys have played 4 home games this season and lost all of them. It’s quite embarrassing to see how Jerry World has turned into a circus. The America’s team recorded 5 turnovers in the loss and to Mike McCarthy, that is “unacceptable.”

In the postgame interview, the Cowboys head coach admitted, “[This game] was about the giveaways. It’s unacceptable… you can’t win games at any level like that. To be in there at halftime, in a one-score game, then to go turn the ball over three times?… The game gets away from you, and you can’t get back into it. I’m disappointed, as I’m sure everybody is.”
Two of those 5 fumbles were on Dak Prescott’s replacement, Cooper Rush, and one on Ezekiel Elliott. Another one was on Trey Lance, who threw a pick early in the fourth quarter. Even Jerry Jones echoed the same sentiment as the head coach and said that the team cannot win games after committing so many turnovers.

The Cowboys owner surprised everyone when he said, “Philadelphia is a high-caliber team. We’re not up to it.” If the owner doesn’t feel confident in his team, how are they supposed to win? It seems like the Cowboys didn’t just lose Dak Prescott to a season-ending injury, but they also lost their chutzpah to win games.
