“You are a SUPERWOMAN. Ringing that bell finishing chemo and on your way. You continue to fight with a smile on your face, strength, and determination. I am one proud Dad! Love you, Bella.” That’s Michael Strahan for you, all happy after his daughter, Isabella Strahan, finished her chemo. And why not? It all came as a bolt from the blue when Isabella was starting a new phase of her life.

She had just begun a fresh chapter at the University of Southern California in LA. But was having symptoms that made her feel that something was wrong. “I had headaches. It’s not like headaches. I was dizzy,” Isabella had revealed in Good Morning America which her father co-hosts. “The biggest thing is that I could not walk in a straight line. Every time I was walking, I could not walk in a straight line. So I thought I had vertigo.”

But then in New York, where she was on a photoshoot, she started “throwing up blood.” After being rushed to the hospital, an MRI scan diagnosed the cancer referred to as Medulloblastoma. It showed a fast-growing tumor, which by that time was already the size of a golf ball. Isabella had to go through an emergency surgery just a day before she turned 19. Then after a long journey of chemos and medication, she was declared cancer-free this summer. In the aftermath, not only did she resume her studies, but she has also been making waves in the other half of her career.

Alongside her father, Isabella posed for the November 2024 issue of The Woman 360 magazine. She took to her Instagram stories to share the news. The community of businesswomen & entrepreneurs who are committed to improving their professional lives also took to their social media handle and shared a story of Isabella along with others. Considering her recent health challenges, this achievement has turned out to be meaningful for Isabella.

This comes days after Isabella graced the cover of Town & Country magazine’s November 2024 issue. The 20-year-old shared this exciting news on her official Instagram handle. “Excited to share @townandcountrymag November ‘24 cover,” she captioned, sharing her gratitude and joy for the opportunity. “I had the best time working with such amazing people.”

The daughter of the former New York Giants‘ DE has a thriving career as a model. In January this year, the 20-year-old bagged her first major modeling stint with Sephora. The budding model was in an ad for Sephora Collection mascara and was featured both on Sephora’s website and on a display in the store. Strahan had shared three photos of Isabella’s ad campaign on Instagram, captioning the post, “So proud of my beautiful and amazing daughter, @isabellastrahan on her first big campaign. Proud of you.” Isabella’s twin sister Sophia Strahan had commented on the post, “THATS MY SISTER.”

Isabella had shot the campaign for Sephora last May in Paris, describing the experience as “super exciting.” “I got to travel to Paris for three days to shoot the campaign,” she had said on Good Morning America. “And it was such a great experience, and so much fun getting to be in another country to shoot it.”

Even before that, Isabella had walked the runway for fashion brand Sherri Hill at their New York Bridal Fashion Week show in 2022. “Very proud of you, @isabellastrahan, for crushing your first runway this weekend for @sherrihill!!!!” her dad wrote in a video recap of the moment posted on social media back then. “As a parent, there is nothing like watching your child succeed at what they love with a smile on their face! #ProudDad #GirlDad.”

Alongside all these, presently, she is continuing her studies in Journalism and Communication at the University of Southern California. “I get to start my freshman year again, and I hope I’m there for longer than 50 days this time,” the 20-year-told model told Town & Country Magazine. Isabella’s triumph over cancer is not just battling the disease, but also issues that come with its treatment. Here is how the braveheart faced those.

Michael Strahan’s daughter’s triumph over cancer

One of the side effects of cancer chemotherapy is hair fall. In one of her vlogs, Isabella had shared that the hair loss started quite early after she started radiation therapy and she was upset with that. “I couldn’t even look at myself because it was worse than probably not having hair,” Isabella said. But after about two weeks of radiation therapy, she decided to shave it all off in the middle of the night with the help of her sister.

After that, she’s embraced her new look. With Sophia’s help, Isabella made a TikTok video to have a little fun with her new look. In the video, Sophia lip-synced along with a snippet from the animated series “Monster High.” As she took away the wig off of her sister’s head, Sophia pretended to say, “Oh my gosh! She’s bald! She’s bald and she’s torturing people who have hair!”

The 20-year-old has documented her whole cancer journey on her YouTube channel. “It was a great, great scan,” she said in one of her videos posted on the platform. “Everything was clear. Cancer-free. And everything is great.”

And it was her family who became her cornerstone from the beginning of her diagnosis. Dad Michael Strahan openly shared the emotional turmoil he experienced, expressing fear of losing his daughter. “You have to control your thoughts, because your brain thinks of the worst case scenario,” he stated. Apart from her father, Isabella’s mother, Jean Muggli, and Strahan’s partner, Kayla Quick, were also an integral part of her recovery.
