Being a linebacker demands toughness, but rest assured, Micah Parsons has enough of it. But Parsons’ physical prowess might somehow be attributed to his passion for wrestling as well. A few months ago, we saw CJ Stroud and Parsons touring Japan and going head-to-head against Sumo wrestlers. Though they lost, but now we know about their knack for wrestling as well.

Also, did you know that WWE sent Micah Parsons a WWE belt for winning Defensive Rookie of the Year? If that still doesn’t convince you that the Dallas Cowboys LB is an avid wrestling proponent, then take a look at what happened at the Dallas Cowboys training camp in Oxnard.

Thankfully, after a long time, we are getting some lighthearted news from the Dallas Cowboys side of the NFL. Parsons is entertaining the crowd with the wrestling skills, and this time; Trevon Diggs became the prop for the LB’s antics. The Dallas Cowboys took to X and shared a video titled, “welcome to the lion’s den”, and the fans are excited to see Parsons’ wrestling skills.

The video shows Parsons picking Trevon Diggs up on his shoulders and throwing him down in a playful manner, showcasing his wrestling moves. He even pinned down Trevon Diggs, stayed there for a few seconds as if the ref was counting him down, and got up like he won the match up. The whole thing was hilarious. Apparently, this was his impersonation of John Cena‘s finishing, a far cry from the WWE superstar’s actual signature move.

He reposted the Dallas Cowboys’ video on his X account and replied, “U [can’t]️ C ME!” It’s no surprise that someday Parsons might actually try his hands at serious wrestling. He even asked the fans, “Where is a great wrestling room in Austin, Texas?!” on April 19 last year.

In the off season, Parsons and CJ Stroud took a trip to Japan and found themselves in a dojo. No, not Karate, but sumo wrestling. Parsons went against a sumo wrestler and, to everyone’s surprise, failed to even move the Japanese wrestler an inch from his spot. Instead, he got manhandled and trolled by the Japanese giant.

The video shows Parsons trying to push as hard as he could, and the sumo wrestler casually just stiff armed him to the sideline. CJ Stroud was there too, and he didn’t help. Instead, he stared trolling Micah Parsons and acted like he was rocking a baby in his arms and also did the famous “too small” move, implying that Parsons wasn’t sized well enough in front of the wrestler.

But while, Parsons did his best to cheer everyone up, it doesn’t take away from the fact that the Cowboys are facing some internal problems related to contracts right now. Micah Parsons is one of those roadblocks.

Things are about to change for Micah Parsons

Recently, a news broke out that the Cowboys will be picking up Micah Parsons on the fifth year option, but there was a catch. He will not play as a linebacker, but as a defensive end. That’s because he played about 87% of his snaps as a DE last year, per PFF. He is set to make $21.3 million next year, saving Dallas Cowboys $3 million in cap space.

While Jerry Jones is getting pressed about getting Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb’s deals lately, he broke the silence about Parsons’ contract. “He’s not a backburner issue, but that’s not the point. I think that Micah is obviously a key player for the Cowboys. In my mind, he’s really just getting started. I’m reluctant to say he’s not front and center. He’s front and center. His potential future relative to contract impacts our thinking today about contracts. In that sense, he’s in there,” said Jones.

Jones didn’t describe the semantics of their contracts, but did describe the order in which they were going to be done. It will be Dak, then CeeDee, then Micah. All of their contract situations are still up in the air and there has been no development since the last couple of months. The good news is, Cowboys can use multiple franchise tags on Micah Parsons in the future.
