Ever since the 2025 NFL offseason kicked off, fans have been glued to their screens like it’s the season finale of their favorite show—just waiting for those blockbuster contract extensions to drop. First, the Raiders made waves by backing up the Brinks truck for Maxx Crosby, offering him a three-year deal worth up to $106.5M. Then, Cleveland straight-up lost its mind when Myles Garrett secured the bag. The Browns‘ DE was gearing up to leave Cleveland to win a Super Bowl.

But nope, the Browns’ front office slapped him with an extravagant contract extension. So, who’s next now? Well, if you ask Cowboys fans, they’re practically begging Jerry Jones to stop playing and give Micah Parsons the payday he more than deserves. But what about Parsons? Nah, he’s currently shocked after hearing about Garrett’s $40M per year contract.

Yeah, you read that right. On Sunday, Parsons took to his official ‘X’ handle and responded to Garrett’s contract extension. “Lol yooo wtf 😂.” He tweeted. Picture this: Parsons woke up, probably still half-asleep, only to see that a guy everyone thought might leave the Browns just secured a monster deal. That’s insane.

On Sunday, the Cleveland team agreed to a record contract extension for Garrett. The contract terms? Absolutely ridiculous. Enough to shake the whole league, and probably force Jerry Jones to pull out something like this for Parsons as well. The Browns offered their DE a handsome $160M four-year extension that includes $123.5M in guaranteed. Long story short: Myles Garrett is with the Browns through 2030 and will stack up a sweet $40M per season.

Now, let’s be real—Parsons’ reaction on this massive deal is justifiable, isn’t it? I mean, a few weeks ago, Garrett himself confirmed that he requested a trade from the Cleveland team. And the reason was pretty obvious. He wants to win a Super Bowl. I mean, the guy was with the Browns for eight years (his whole career so far), and he never won a Lombardi. Nah, scratch that. The team hasn’t made it to the playoffs for four straight seasons now.

So yeah, considering his performance, it’s pretty obvious why he requested a trade from the team. But nope, the Browns’ front office never wanted to part ways with him. Because let’s be obvious—the Browns have built an identity of their D-line around Garrett. Plus, the guy’s been a cornerstone of their defense ever since the team drafted him back in the 2017 NFL draft. And of course, finding a player of his caliber is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Enter a $160M whopping contract extension and now Myles Garrett is staying put in Cleveland. The Browns’ fans must be giving a slight nod to this deal right about now. BUT! What about the Cowboys’ fans? I mean, they’re rooting for a similar treatment for Micah Parsons from Jerry Jones, right?

What’s your perspective on:

Will Jerry Jones finally open his wallet for Micah Parsons, or is he just teasing Cowboys fans?

Micah Parsons isn’t going to follow Myles Garrett’s suit

Back in 2021, Micah Parsons signed his rookie contract with the Cowboys worth $17M for four years. Fast forward to now and the 25-year-old LB is now entering the final season of his contract (the Cowboys picked a fifth year option). We’ve still got months to go before we see what Parsons brings to the 2025 season. But one thing’s for sure—the Cowboys might not wait that long to lock him down with a fat extension—thanks to the Browns offering Garrett a lucrative deal.

But we just can’t deny the fact that Garrett’s contract extension came after he requested a trade. And that’s where things get pretty interesting. Because one question surely looms over the Cowboys’ fans’ heads: is Parsons going to do the same? Well, let’s hear from the man himself. On Monday, Parsons appeared on Zach Gelb Show where he was asked, So, there’s no trade request coming from you? I know right people see Myles Garrett with the trade request the other day. People go and wonder if Micah is going to follow the suit there.”

To his response, Parsons straight up admitted that he isn’t planning a trade from the Cowboys as long as he gets a deal done. “No, I don’t plan on following suit as long as, you know, I get a deal done. I think, I’ll be pretty happy,” the 25-year-old LB said. But what about the Cowboys’ loyalty?

Because the fans are surely hoping for Jerry Jones to stay loyal with Parsons, just like the Browns were with Garrett. And when Gelb asked him, “Do you think the loyalty will be there for you? Do you expect to get something done with the Cowboys this offseason?” Parsons told him that he’s hoping for it. “Oh, I would hope so,” he said. Yeah, just like that.

Well, the guy deserves a contract extension from the Cowboys, there’s no denying that. I mean, Parsons has been in the league for just four years and he recorded 10+ sacks in four straight seasons. Plus, the guy averaged 64 combined tackles per season in his four-year career. So yeah, if another massive contract drops in the next few days, don’t be shocked—it’s probably got Micah Parsons’ name all over it.
