Jerry Jones has just signed defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa to a four-year, $80 million deal. Next in the line for Jerry Jones is definitely Micah Parsons. So, it would be safe to say that whenever Parsons is going to be signed for an extension – it will be heavy on Jones and the Dallas Cowboys’s wallet. So, as on one side Parsons is waiting for a big amount, on the other he is making some decisions with his money off-the-field.

To the people who are unaware, Micah Parsons runs Lion’s Heart Foundation, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. These platforms are designed to support teens, families and youths with vital resources and mentorships. Hence, as a part of it, the linebacker once again stepped up to give back to his community.

On Wednesday, Micah Parsons shared a couple of images on X where he could be seen interacting with the young generation. Sharing the photos, which was originally shared by reporter Caleb Nixon, the LB wrote, “717 for life!! Love my community!” With this 717 area code, he showed his love for southern Pennsylvania, which also covers several counties including Lancaster, York, Dauphin, Cumberland, Franklin, Lebanon, and Adams. So, what did he do? Well, as per the post by Nixon, Parsons gave “back to his hometown today at the newest @Academy store in Harrisburg.” Not only that! The athlete even “donated a total of $10,000, gifting 100 kids from the Harrisburg Boys and Girls Club a shopping spree at the newest store.” Why Harrisburg?

Born and brought up in Harrisburg, Micah Parsons once gave an interview in 2021. At that time, he was just drafted by the Cowboys. So, while talking about his love for the city, he expressed, “There’s school; there’s things that you can go past college. There’s opportunities out here, we just have to take them. To be able to do that and to inspire the people of Harrisburg and inspire older influences who now want to change and younger influences who want to change, it means everything to me. I’m all about 717. I always rep it to the fullest.” It was clear that Parsons is going to give back to his community. Hence, with the foundations – Lion’s Heart, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America – the LB is showing his love for the people of his hometown.

Now, remember we also talked about Micah Parsons’s awaiting extension earlier in the article? Yes! So, on one hand, the linebacker is giving his community back with whatever he can. But on the other, he is up for a huge salary – thanks to Maxx Crosby, who might have increased the problems of Jerry Jones now.

Maxx Crosby set the bar high for Micah Parsons and Jerry Jones!

Jerry Jones and the Cowboys are no less than turtles while addressing contracts of the players. Ask Dak Prescott, whose contract was delayed last year. Now, they are holding Micah Parsons. The linebacker is still on his rookie contract which was signed in 2021 for a four-year, $17,079,793. Now, he is set to carry a $24 million cap hit for 2025. So, when will he be signed? This remains a big question mark. But one thing is sure, whenever he will be, it’s quite possible that it will surpass Maxx Crosby’s deal.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Raiders signed their edge rusher to a three-year, $106.5 million contract extension. In this, he will get $91.5 million in new guaranteed money. This deal made him the highest-paid player (non QB) in the NFL. And if we look back a little, we are aware of the fact that Parsons was supposed to be the next highest paid non QB. But now, Crosby’s deal has ranked Las Vegas’s star on top.

So, if Micah Parsons is getting more than Crosby, it will definitely cost Jerry Jones a lot. What do you think?
