The regular season is wrapped up, and if there’s one thing we’ve heard non-stop, it’s been Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. But let’s not forget about the real headline-maker—Micah Parsons. The guy’s been nothing short of a beast all season. Too bad, though, his teammates couldn’t quite keep up, and now the Cowboys are watching the playoffs from the sidelines.
But if you’re thinking that this embarrassing season had put some negative things into the DE’s mind, then that’s not true. Because Parsons isn’t going anywhere unless the owner decides to do something fishy again. And when asked about his future with the Cowboys, Parsons confirmed that there’s no question he wants to remain in Dallas. “I called upon the star, I landed on it, and I’m grateful. I feel like I got one of the best jobs in America,” he stated.

Keeping aside the whole season, there’s no denying that Parsons is the only good thing that happened to the Dallas team. The linebacker had played at a whole different level this season. The 25-year-old started every game that he played with 43 combined tackles, including 30 solo and 13 assists…
Parsons has been a dominant force for the Dallas Cowboys this season, with 12 sacks and a relentless approach to pass-rushing. The guy’s been living in opposing backfields and making life miserable for quarterbacks. And even better for Cowboys fans? He has made it clear that he wants to stick around in Dallas for the long haul. So, rest easy, Cowboys Nation—your star linebacker is committed and ready to keep wrecking offenses for years to come.
But we can’t avoid the elephant in the room, can we? What Parsons needed was support from his teammates, and now it’s a decision that requires Jerry Jones’ attention.
Micah Parsons wants the free agents back in the locker room
It’s as simple as that, that Parsons can’t do the job alone. I mean, the guy had carried the whole defense on his shoulder. And if the owner decides a contract extension for him, that will not be all for the team. Honestly, if you give him a solid defense around him, who knows—maybe next year we’ll finally see Jerry Jones’ Cowboys have that standout season they’ve been chasing for so long.
“I don’t want to hold anybody up. I want to see some of these (free agents) back in this locker room. We have a great opportunity. I want to see change. I want to see players here.” Parsons stated further when asked for his new contract. “I want to be as aggressive as we can be. I don’t want to be a headache to nobody.”

No wonder Parsons is a team player, but Micah, that’s where the ownership concerns grab a spotlight. The organization has the likes of Cooper Rush, Trey Lance, Rico Dowdle, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Jourdan Lewis, and the list goes on and on when it comes to their free agent in 2025. And as it stands, the Cowboys are at risk of some key players in the off-season.
Cowboys fans are crossing their fingers that Parsons gets his well-deserved payday ASAP—preferably before Jerry and Stephen Jones start overthinking things and pull out one of their infamous “trump cards.” Seriously, the simplest play here is to just pay the man and lock him in for the long haul. Parsons is the heart and soul of the defense, and delaying his contract could end up costing way more as the market for elite defenders keeps skyrocketing. Get it done now, and the Joneses can shift their focus to free agents and other offseason moves without this hanging over their heads.
