Cowboys’ LB Micah Parsons and Texans’ QB CJ Stroud recently engaged in a word war during an interview. The athletes teamed up during a youth football camp they held together in Beijing, China for kids aged 8-18.

During NFL draft coverage, Stroud and Parsons debated various topics, including which NFL division was the best last season. Parsons defended the NFC East, while Stroud spoke about the AFC North’s superiority. And, the conversation eventually led to Stroud labeling Parsons as delusional.

In a conversation with House of Highlights, when the host asked them, “How much would each of you score in a NBA game? “ Micah Parsons said, “I’m averaging 20.” CJ Stroud said, “This crazy. I always say I would be lucky to hit a three or two.” Micah replied, “And he calls himself a shooter”.

Stroud said, “He’s a Cowboy. He’s a Cowboy, he’s naturally delusional.” Stroud’s comment reflects a teasing towards Parsons, suggesting that his claim of averaging 20 points in an NBA game is unrealistic.

However, this is not the first time they got into an argument. They were asked who the best NFL team in Texas was. That’s when things got interesting! Stroud didn’t hesitate to say his team was better, especially since star player Stefon Diggs chose to join them. He further said that it will be proved on the field that his team is best. Parsons didn’t back down as well, stating, “On paper last year, we were arguably the best division in football. Everyone was a playoff team.” The LB is confident of his upcoming performance on the field, as the Dallas Cowboys officially decided to keep him for another year.

Parsons’ positional switch

But here’s the twist: they’re labelling him as a defensive end instead of a linebacker. This move will save the team about $3 million. The Cowboys had until May 2 to decide on this option for their 2021 first-round draft picks, and they went ahead with it. Even though Parsons has been playing as a linebacker, he was used more as a defensive end last season.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones explained it at a press conference. Jones said, “Sometimes great things happen to you [in the draft]. You get a Micah Parsons. Well, Micah Parsons is gonna take some cap, to have Micah. And so does CeeDee [Lamb]. All of that, I wouldn’t trade getting to do this for any job in the world and get to be here sitting here explaining what we’re doing.”

The Cowboys’ decision to designate Micah Parsons as a defensive end underscores their commitment to financial efficiency while prioritizing players for future success. Will their decision impact the team’s future? The upcoming season will answer.
