It was a double blow for the Cowboys against the Bengals in their week 14 matchup. Not only did they lose the game, but at the 12:49 mark in the 4th quarter, their LB DeMarvion Overshown got injured. It was so bad that the medical staffers had to help him go into the locker room. His teammate, Micah Parsons, broke down over the incident.
After the game, while talking to the reporters, the LB was visibly emotional. Calling Overshown his ‘lil bro’, he was in tears while saying, “He’s like my little bro, He don’t deserve that, he really don’t. To understand what he’s going to have to have to go through physically and mentally. He’s so talented, the year he was having. I really don’t think it’s fair.” This concern from one teammate to another shows how closely knit the Cowboys locker room is.

The concerns for DeMarvion Overshown arise from his rookie year. He was their 3rd round pick (90th overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft. However, in the preseason game against the Seahawks, he tore his left ACL and missed his entire season. The entire team was disappointed but helped him gain his confidence back. Looks like he formed a great bond with Micah Parsons during the practice sessions.
This year, he showed some signs of greatness during the week 13 matchup against the Giants with a 27-yard interception return for a touchdown. His team ended up winning the team 27-20. But things have turned worse after the Bengals’ loss. They have a lot of areas to work on.
The head coach Mike McCarthy was just getting impressed with Overshown’s ability. But he also received a bolt during the MNF game. It’s not a good sign.

During the post-game conference, he said, “It didn’t look good,” before adding, “it’s of serious concern.” It broke the coach’s heart as he had praised his linebacker before the game and mentioned, “I’m so impressed with him, and in his consistency, in his approach, and that’s just going to keep putting him in the position to progress.”
The injured Cowboys linebacker also shared an IG story with his photo showing him in the AT&T Stadium. His facial expressions indicated that he was also worried about it. However, everyone was hoping he would come out strong.

Before getting injured, he had 90 tackles and 5 sacks in 13 games with 1 interception and 1 touchdown. It’s an enormous loss for the locker room. However, the time now is to gather their courage and move ahead with the remaining games.
