Maxx Crosby is a name synonymous with Las Vegas Raiders at present. Crosby is aggressive on the field and perhaps the most exhilarating defensive player to watch. But 4 years ago, this would have been an overstatement because his life was a physical and mental battle with alcoholism and the person who helped him bounce back was his wife, Rachel Crosby.

The Raiders DE met Rachel during his time at EMU. Just two months into their friendship, the couple decided to start dating. While the 3x Pro Bowler was active on the football field, Rachel Crosby was shining on the soccer ground. She had a passion for the sport since her high school days. But who’s the person behind the name?

Who is Rachel Washburn?

Rachel attended Eastern Michigan University and majored in Sports Management which is coming in handy. She helps her husband manage his merch website, Mad Maxx Merch, per her Instagram where she has 16k followers. Mentioning about their relationship often, Rachel recalled getting butterflies for the first time when she met Crosby at EMU back in 2016.

“We went to Masa, this Mexican restaurant. We came really good friends and started to date two months later,” said Rachel Crosby in an interview with the PEOPLE Magazine. The couple went on with the times and got engaged in 2022, before finally marrying in March 2023. But the road to their union wasn’t sunshine and rainbows at all.

The DE was battling with alcoholism and kept his problems tucked away before they finally got out. Maxx Crosby got a DUI arrest during his time at Eastern Michigan University and that was hard on Rachel. Things went on, Crosby got drafted into the NFL and his problems with alcoholism kept piling up, which led to the couple splitting up.

After spiraling into depression, Crosby decided he needed help and there was only one person he could call. “I need help,” he said on the phone. “I have a problem.” It didn’t take long for Rachel to pack her bags and go to Las Vegas to see Crosby. With the help of the DE’s agent, Crosby’s wife found a rehab for her beau to get better in, and since then, the situation has been far better for the football player.

The DE got his life back on track, got a huge extension, got married, and even has a daughter now. Alas, what better way to celebrate his other half than proposing to her and hosting a grand wedding?

All seems well for Maxx Crosby

In February 2022, the 3x Pro Bowler said the big words when he proposed to his wife on a trip to Utah. He had a custom-made ring from AL the Jeweler that he helped design. Rachel recalled the day saying, “Maxx fully designed the ring himself,” and that “Our Airbnb was in these amazing snowy mountains and he proposed right in front of the mountains.”

They got engaged and welcomed their first child, Ella Rose Crosby, on October 13, 2022. Now that he successfully had the tag of “girl-dad” in the bag, he finally decided to have a grand wedding at Cascata Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada on March 4, 2023. The wedding theme was to the beat of the atmosphere, the dress looked great, the food was awesome, but most importantly, Crosby was on cloud 9.

“It means so much. Marriage is forever; it’s promising no matter what is thrown our way that we will face it together and be the best team ever and love each other no matter what,” said the DE after getting married.

These days Rachel’s Instagram is full of baby pics, along with day and night outs. Perhaps, “I can fix him,” works in this universe where everybody lives happily ever after.
