Is Maxx Crosby's loyalty to the Raiders misplaced given their current losing streak?

The season had been disappointing for the Raiders. After the 19-29 loss against the Broncos, the locker room is sad. Maxx Crosby is one of them. He wasn’t happy at all. Rather he was upset with the loss. And didn’t mince his words while talking about his locker room.

When asked if the team was tanking, he bluntly replied, “I mean if we’re not playing to win then what are we doing you know what I mean. I don’t play to get a better pick.” These words were enough to throw the locker room under the bus. The DE is giving his best, but a win is getting hard to achieve. He recently made a personal record as well against the Broncos.

In his 93rd game, Maxx Crosby recorded his 100th career tackle in a loss. With this, he became the 3rd fastest player to do so, since JJ Watt (64) and Aaron Donald (81). But other players aren’t keeping up with him. The failure of the team has been massive. But the DE still has hope. He believes in his teammates.

I know these guys are trying to win, and we got great players in this locker room and guys that put everything into it. So we’re just going to keep staying together and keep trying to find ways to win,” was the consolation he had. There is nothing else to say. The Raiders are down and out this season. And it isn’t like that they are losing some close moments. Their defeats have been fair and square.

The poor performance has continued. Now, they are making records which no team would like to associate themselves to.

Amid Maxx Crosby’s disappointment, Raiders make a record of losses

With a 2-9 win-loss record after week 12, the Silver and the Black have now lost 8 straight games against the rookie quarterbacks. They are tied with the Commanders who lost 8 games between 2006 and 2011. That’s the most games lost since 1950. It’s heartbreaking for the fans.

Is Maxx Crosby's loyalty to the Raiders misplaced given their current losing streak?

Have an interesting take?

Even if we look at the current NFL teams, the Raiders are tied with the Jaguars and Giants, who also have 2 wins and 9 losses. The 7-loss streak was unforeseen and unwanted. Though Maxx Crosby kept asserting that he believed in the locker room and added, “I love this team and I love my teammates you know what I mean.” The obvious question is how long will he keep loving the team? It isn’t easy, given the current scenario.

HC Antonio Pierce’s spot seems to be in danger. He had more wins (5 out of 9) last season when he took over as the head coach after the week 8 game against the Lions in 2023. This year, the story is completely different. But they wouldn’t want to finish as the worst-performing team in 2024.
