“He came in to win, and that’s what he’s done his whole life…I believe in Tom.” That’s Maxx Crosby for you when you ask him about Tom Brady. Indeed! The NFL GOAT already has seven Super Bowl rings, and now, as a minority owner of the Raiders, he’s hoping to turn things around for a team that hasn’t seen the playoffs in three years. But the thing is, his conflict of interest is continuously giving him hard times.

Being a FOX analyst and the Raiders’ owner has raised certain questions about Brady. Especially when the former QB was on a head coach hunt for his team. But hold on, the Raiders’ defensive end, Crosby, is all in for supporting Brady. In fact, the 27-year-old DE believes that Brady’s roles as Raiders owner and FOX analyst are not a conflict of interest.

During his appearance at the Front Office Sport, the DE stated that there was no conflict at all. “I don’t think there’s a conflict at all,” Crosby stated. “Obviously, they put restrictions you’ve seen publicly. Roger Goodell talked about it, he’s communicated all the time and making sure he’s all good like that’s just part of it. You know, it’s, it’s a business at the end of the day and Brady’s here to win. And you know, that’s what I’m here to do. You know what I mean, so my relationship with them has been incredible for sure.”

Sure, Brady was often in contact with the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell regarding if he was doing OK as a FOX analyst. In fact, the NFL commissioner himself declared that “Tom has been incredibly cooperative. He calls frequently about it and says, ‘Am I doing OK? I think he’s serious that he separates the two and doesn’t put the league or anyone in a position of conflict.”

Let’s not sugarcoat it. If Brady has to frequently call the league and ask if he’s doing OK, then that situation is far from being normal. The reason? Well, other announcers and the team owners don’t need to call the league frequently, asking if they’re doing ok. Why? Because the league hasn’t put certain rules into action for them like they did for Brady. But here’s the kicker. Goodell has been continuously repeating that Brady, like any other owner, has to play by the league’s tampering rules—no exceptions.

“Everybody in the National Football League, owners and personnel, is still subject to tampering rules,” Goodell further said. “Everyone is responsible for his conduct and they’re held accountable.” That means Tom Brady’s dual role as an analyst and an owner actually seems to be a conflict of interest.

Tom Brady moves to offseason after Super Bowl

Tom Brady has landed a Super Bowl spot in his rookie season as a broadcaster. And in his debut season, the former Patriots legend recorded certain conflict of interests. However, with just one game remaining to this season—the Super Bowl, Brady is gonna focus on the Raiders in the coming offseason. And we’re yet to find his role as a minority owner of the team. That’s where veteran media reporter Bryan Curtis of The Ringer comes in.

On Wednesday, Curtis asked Brady on a FOX conference call to clarify his role in the offseason moves for the Raiders. The future Hall of Fame QB came up with a fuzzy response. According to Curtis, “He called it a ‘long term, kind of behind-the-scenes type role’ that would ‘support the team and the leadership and the overall vision for success.’ No specifics beyond that,” Curtis wrote on his official ‘X’ handle.

Wait for it! What about his 10-year long contract with the FOX? I mean, will there be more conflict of interests in the future? Because according to Brady’s agent, Don Yee, “Tom has had a tremendous amount of fun working with Fox this year, and he’s really excited about the future with Fox and his growth on their team,” Yee told Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal on Thursday. “And this year was the first year of a long relationship.”

On the flip side, the Raiders’ newly appointed head coach, Pete Carroll, leans on Brady about finding a long-term answer at the quarterback position. When asked of the same, Carroll replied, “We’re going to lean on Tom as much as we possibly can for his insights.”
