Did Maxx Crosby's 'love push' show passion or was it just misunderstood by fans?

More often than not, people tend to misconstrue Maxx Crosby’s actions. The Raiders abysmally lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but a moment from the game quickly went viral. It’s very similar to what happened between Aaron Rodgers and Robert Saleh when the Jets got a “two-score lead” a while back.

So, what’s it all about? Crosby was seen shoving the Raiders linebackers coach, Mike Caldwell, and people didn’t take long to make a mountain out of a molehill. An account by the name of HellaADZ posted a controversial snippet from the Raiders-Steelers game that ended in a 13-32 loss at home. But the Raiders DE was quick to clear the air.

“Mike Caldwell Is My Guy. One Of The Best People In The Business. Thats A Love Push, Stop Reaching. #RN4L,” Crosby wrote under the post, replying to the person who posted the video snippet on X. Though the Vegas team lost and are now 2-4, Maxx Crosby had a decent game and had a reason to celebrate and be hyped after he racked up 0.5 sacks, two solo tackles, three tackles for loss, and three QB hits.

Given the Raiders’ record this season, it’s easy to assume that there is some turmoil in the locker room, and Davante Adams’ trade is somehow clubbed with all this. Also, this is Mike Caldwell’s first year as the Raiders’ LB/Defensive run game coordinator, so people are just assuming that something is wrong.

This is the second blowout loss in the last two weeks, so it’s clear that the Raiders are not doing well on either side of the ball. The Las Vegas team was unable to stop the run as the Steelers rushed for 183 yards in total. Perhaps these rookie coaches are not what the black-and-silver team needs right now.

But coming back to Maxx Crosby, this isn’t the only controversial situation he’s been caught in over the last few weeks.

Maxx Crosby-Mike Lombardi beef reaches an amicable resolution

A couple of weeks ago, former NFL GM Michael Lombardi took to The Pat McAfee Show and started speculating about Crosby’s absence from the Cleveland Browns game. He pointed out how Crosby might have missed the game due to his hamstring injury and later sidetracked to saying that the Raiders are in dysfunction because of the Davante Adams trade rumors.

This didn’t sit well with the Raiders DE, and he told the media how “clowns” like Michael Lombardi go to The Pat McAfee Show weekly and give unsolicited advice about what his team should and shouldn’t do. However, Lombardi admitted he was wrong and issued an apology on the same show.

“Let me address the elephant in the room: he’s right, I was wrong,” Lombardi continued. “I thought he had a hamstring injury and he’s right to call me out because I was wrong. Just like I call people out that I think are wrong. And so I was wrong on that, I thought he had a hamstring, he had a high-ankle. He didn’t deserve to be on the sideline.”

While the beef is sorted out, the Raiders are in deep trouble right now. They benched Gardner Minshew for Aidan O’Connell, and things still haven’t changed. At this rate, they won’t reach the playoffs. But this is the NFL, and strange things happen.
