Is being a 'girl dad' Matthew Stafford's greatest achievement, even beyond his Super Bowl win?

Matthew Stafford is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Though he is now nearing the end of his career, the QB still has that aura. After 12 seasons with the Detroit Lions, he moved to the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. However, he wasn’t alone. His family follows him wherever he goes. His wife Kelly Stafford makes sure to keep everything in order while he is busy with football and other professional commitments.

Over the years, the couple has welcomed 4 daughters into their lives. They are his biggest fans.

Kelly was a cheerleader at Georgia University and sister of former NFL player Chad Hall. When they first met during college, sparks flew. The QB was immediately smitten, and both got into a relationship. On April 4, 2015, the couple exchanged vows in front of their families and friends.

The couple enthralled their fans in January 2017 when they announced the pregnancy to the fans. But it was a double joy. She was pregnant with identical twin daughters. 2 months later, on 31st March, they welcomed their first two daughters, whom they named Sawyer and Chandler. While announcing the news, Kelly posted a photo of the pair and wrote, “First night out as a mom and dad! Our babies were born March 31st and are healthy and happy! Thanks for all the well wishes!

The couple later had two more daughters. In August 2018, Matthew Stafford’s third daughter, Hunter, was born in August 2018. The fourth daughter, Tyler, was born in June 2020. All these years, he played for the Detroit Lions. However, in 2021, he moved to the Los Angeles Rams.

The move to the Rams proved successful as he won the Super Bowl LVI. The family was happy and celebrated with him in the stadium.

The lovely bond between the decorated quarterback and his girls was on full display after he won the 2022 Super Bowl. While he kissed his wife holding hands with his two daughters, fans were elated to watch them. The other two girls were playing with confetti after watching their dad win the ultimate glory.

Matthew Stafford was asked a very intriguing question in an LA Times interview. It was how he felt being a girl dad. His reply that won hearts was, “People talk all the time; you’re going to try for a boy and I’m so happy with the four girls that I have. It’s the greatest part of my life, to be honest with you. It changed it in so many ways. Four beautiful little daughters. I’m lucky in that regard.” Indeed, he is.
