The Green Bay Packers quarterback got hurt once again. And this time, too, Jordan Love’s backup, Malik Willis, did the unimaginable. After Love re-injured his left knee early in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Jaguars, his backup came to lead the team for another win of the season. Later, it was revealed that the 25-year-old QB was dealing with a groin injury. So, it automatically raised a question among fans – Will Jordan Love play at the next game against the Lions?
According to Mike Florio, he should sit! In a recent episode of Sunday Night Football on NBC, the analyst suggested head coach Matt LaFleur to bench Jordan Love due to his injury concerns. He expressed, “Think back to week 4, the Vikings-Packers game when it looked like Jordan Love was laboring. It looked like he wasn’t the same guy.”
He added, “It looked like the injury was affecting him and I wondered who within the organization was able to say to him, you shouldn’t be playing. And I can’t help but wonder whether or not that’s going to be an issue here. Yeah, say it to Jordan Love technically, but let’s give it a little time.”

In addition to that Florio further explained the reason for his suggestion. He said that the backup quarterback is healthy and fit to go, so he should have a chance. It is because playing Jordan Love in the next game could aggravate his injury. “Then it could become a multi-week thing,” he said. Hence, it’s better to sit him out for a week and in the upcoming Bye Week. This way, he could get two weeks of rest to recover.
Nevertheless, we still have to see what will happen next. Will the Packers go with Malik Willis, or would they stick to a $220 million player, Jordan Love only?
Will Jordan Love play against the Lions?
Jordan Love sustained a groin injury in his last game against the Jaguars on the opening drive. His abrupt exit from that game resulted in the question of whether he would play against the Lions or not. On one hand, many, including analysts like Mike Florio, are suggesting that he should rest up well. But will he? Well, according to the reports, Love returned to practice on a rainy Thursday. This means he might come back to face off against Detroit.

But again, it depends on the coach and the team’s decision. For now, as per coach Matt LaFleur, he “moved like he was limited.” So, when the curious reporters asked him about Love’s presence in the game, even if he wasn’t available in the practice all week, LaFluer remained tight-lipped to some extent.
He said, “Potentially. He’s moving around better. Certainly, yeah, we’ll push the envelope with that. I know he wants to play but we’ll see where he’s at by the end of the week.” The Packers and the Lions are going to play each other on Sunday, November 3 at Green Bay, Wisconsin.
