How much longer can the NFL ignore the concussion crisis after the Giants WR's latest confession?

A rookie is turning the tides for the New York Giants. The wide receiver Malik Nabers, the 6th overall pick of the Giants, in the 2024 NFL Draft means business. In 4 games so far, he has made 35 receptions of 51 targets with 386 yards and 3 touchdowns. But the Giants didn’t only lose the game to the Cowboys. They also lost the WR to a concussion injury. The game has put his future in jeopardy.

Now, more details have emerged about the injury. It looks serious! Giants’ LB Brian Burns was talking to reporters after the game. He looked to Nabers and asked him if he was ok. The WR shook his head, signaling he was not. For those of you who don’t have an idea, let’s explore what happened on the field.

In the 4th quarter, Malik Nabers went for a diving catch on a 4th & 6 play at 3:21 but fell and was visibly unconscious. He slowly stood up and made his way to the medical tent and, later, to the locker room. Minutes later, the WR was diagnosed with concussion. The development isn’t good for the Giants. He was the silver lining of the offense in the game.

Against the Cowboys, the WR made 12 catches for 115 yards. Before that, he scored 2 touchdowns in the week 3 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, becoming the youngest wide receiver to achieve the feat. He also made another record in his first 4 games with 35 catches as he was the 3rd player to make 30 or more receptions in his first 4 games in the Super Bowl era.

Good News! Nabers shared a positive update with fans. He posted a photo from the hotel room, with the caption, “All good. Thanks for the prayers!!!” The question is: Can the Giants make him ready to play the Seahawks on the 6th of October? Will he lose games?
