Aaron Rodgers‘s Jets won against the Texans in week 9. However, according to the captains of the New York team, performance wasn’t as good as it was expected.
The first jab was taken by the head coach Jeff Ulbrich where he ripped rookie Malachi Corley for his dropped fumble before reaching the end zone in the game. The HC said, “First of all – you can’t do that. Second of all – you owe us one.” With this, he likely put additional pressure on Corley, suggesting that he needs to make up for fumbling the ball before reaching the end zone.
During the game, Malachi Corley made a costly error on what should have been a touchdown. On a 20-yard reverse play, he celebrated a bit too soon, dropping the ball right before crossing into the end zone. Believing he’d already scored, Corley let go of the ball, only for it to be ruled a fumble after replay review. This mistake turned what should have been a 7-0 lead and his first career touchdown into a turnover, giving possession to the Texans instead.

That’s the reason why Jeff Ulbrich wasn’t happy with the rookie. He later in a press conference said, “Definitely frustrated to be honest — and angry at the same time.” However, he made sure that he still believed in the player, saying, “But what an amazing opportunity for this kid to grow and learn from. I promise you, 10 years from now when he’s still playing in this league, that will never happen again.”
Apart from all these, quarterback Aaron Rodgers too appeared disappointed with the team’s performance in the first half.

Aaron Rodgers accepted the fault!
In addition to Jeff Ulbrich’s remarks, quarterback Aaron Rodgers accepted his mistakes. He said, “I was just way off – I was about as bad as I could play in the first half.” He even added that the season is in line. And it’s high time for him to come up and play. Not only that! He also accepted that the Jets season would have been over if they failed to win this time at MetLife.
Actually, Aaron Rodgers “had just 32 yards passing in the first half.” Now, this is bad. As per Yahoo magazine, “It was the fewest passing yards Rodgers has ever had in the first half of a game in his career, with a minimum of 10 attempts.”
