The Eagles, Vikings, and Lions are set for the NFC Championship. The Commanders, Rams, Seahawks, and Packers are hanging in there too. But let’s be real, there is not enough room for everyone. The Bucs and Falcons are still in the mix, trying to make their case. With all these teams battling it out, only one gets the golden ticket to chase a Super Bowl dream. Jordan Love’s Packers look solid, but after dropping their last game to the Lions, it might be time to rethink a few things.
The Lions hosted the Packers at their home turf, Ford Field, and snagged a 34-31 win. That was a close one! It always stings when you lose a game by merely 3-4 points. And you start thinking of all the ‘what if‘ situations. And the Packers QB, Jordan Love, was in a similar position. He admitted they messed up in a few spots and didn’t hold back on sending a clear message to WR Christian Watson. Why Watson specifically? Well, it’s because Watson fumbled after making a catch that resulted in a field goal for the Lions. “There’s going to be those tight window throws, you gotta make happen, and receivers do a good job of making those plays”, said Love post-game.

That was not the only time Watson messed up with a catch thrown at him. In Week 12, against the 49ers, the WR fumbled a catch that left the Packers squad pretty disappointed. And your team might let it go, but the fans would never. Packers fans took to X to express their frustration over the missed catch by the WR. “I’m never confident when the ball is coming to him. It’s like playing dice,” a user wrote. Woah! That’s harsh. But then again, you can’t afford to fumble like that when you’re nearing the playoffs. Otherwise, you might have to kiss those playoff dreams goodbye.
The Packers WRs messed up big in the game against the Lions. Even their WR1, Jayden Reed, dropped the first pass of the game. While Jordan Love told his guys to ‘make it happen,’ head coach Matt LaFleur shared his stance on Jayden Reed’s minimal involvement in the recent game.

Jordan Love and Matt LaFleur clears stance over Reed’s involvement
After making his NFL debut in the 2023 season with the Packers, Jayden Reed made a name for himself in his very first game. Reed made his mark in the Packers’ 38–20 victory over the Bears, catching two passes for 48 yards. In 2024, Reed’s performance has been up and down. In the season opener against the Eagles, he showcased his potential with four catches for 138 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown reception, along with a 33-yard rushing touchdown. And after that, things have gone downhill.
After Reed dropped the first pass against the Lions, the pigskin barely came his way again. Hard to do much when you’re only on the field for 25 snaps, like he was in that game. Analysts quickly noticed Reed’s lack of involvement in the game, and the media was all over HC Matt LaFleur, to hear his thoughts on it. “I talked to Jayden about this, is just making sure that we have some of those plays for him in the game plan where he’s tagged to go in there. It wasn’t by design that we don’t want to throw him the b-ll. That’s never the case,” cleared the Packers HC.

QB, Jordan Love, also had his young teammate’s back, saying, “You know, it’s one of those things, good play, on to the next, you know what I mean, so, you know, like I said, it’s part of that process, never being too high, never being too low, but yeah, it was a cool play.” The Packers will be up against the Seahawks in Week 15. The Seahawks are currently leading the NFC West, though they have one less win than Jordan Love’s squad. Hopefully, the team won’t be facing a ‘Fail Mary’ moment this close to the playoffs.
