You know, if you had told Eagles‘ fans a few years ago that Saquon Barkley would be donning midnight green and leading the league in rushing, they might’ve laughed it off. But here we are in 2025, and after racking up 2,000 rushing yards and leading the Eagles to their second Super Bowl, Philly didn’t hesitate to reward him. They secured his talents with a two-year, $41.2 million extension, ensuring that the backfield remains a threat for seasons to come.

But if you’re thinking that the Birds are just done with Barkley’s contract extension, think again. Because it’s like Howie Roseman’s playing Monopoly this offseason—but with real millions. Linebacker Zack Baun, who had a breakout season with 151 tackles and earned First-Team All-Pro honors, secured a three-year, $51 million deal.

Then there’s Lane Johnson, the stalwart right tackle who’s been anchoring the offensive line since 2013. At 35, the guy inked a one-year extension through 2027, adding $8 million over the next two years and $30 million in guarantees. And now? Well, to make it more interesting, the Birds just offered a contract extension to Pro-Bowl center Cam Jurgens. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news on his official ‘X’ handle.

“Pro-Bowl center Cam Jurgens and the Eagles reached agreement today on a four-year, $68 million extension that includes $39.4 million guaranteed that contractually ties him to Philadelphia through the 2029 season,” he wrote. After signing a contract, Jurgens took to his social media handle, and wrote, “Staying home, GO BIRDS!!!” The Eagles surely know what they are doing in this offseason. The reason?

Well, Philly had Jason Kelce for 13 seasons. But before he hung up his cleats, the Birds signed Jurgens in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft as Kelce’s heir. After playing at the right guard position in his rookie season, Jurgens transitioned to his official position after Kelce retired. And let’s be real—the guy was a total beast in the 2024 season—starting 16 games, earned his first Pro Bowl nod, and oh, won the Super Bowl along the way.

“I feel like I have a lot of good guys around me and I just kept learning, getting better every game this year. It’s a huge honor, so many people playing never get it,” Jurgens said when he was named a Pro Bowl selection. “I’m still going to do the same thing and be the same person.” No wonder Jason Kelce took to his official ‘X’ handle right after all that went down and congratulated the 25-year-old.

“Holy Shit, Congrats to the big man Beef Jurgy!! @jurgyco about to sky rocket. Most guaranteed money for a center, Big Extension, yuge! Happy for the big man, deserves every penny!” Kelce wrote. With Jurgens’ signing, the Eagles now have four linemen–Jurgens, left tackle Jordan Mailata (2028), left guard Landon Dickerson (2028), and right tackle Lane Johnson (2027) to lead the O-line for many seasons to come.

Are the Eagles building a dynasty, or is Howie Roseman just playing a risky game?

Meanwhile, the trade rumors for AJ Brown have taken a different turn and look like Nick Sirianni has finally taken a decision on the star wide receiver.

Nick Sirianni to trade AJ Brown to the Patriots?

When you’re a star wideout on a Super Bowl-winning squad and also a full-blown fan of NFL legends, things can get a little spicy. Just ask AJ Brown. The guy’s fresh off his fourth straight 1,000+ yard season and now? He’s out here fangirling—yep, big time—over Patriots icons Julian Edelman and Tom Brady. And get this: right after getting a signed Patriots jersey from TB12, the star wideout got a signed jersey from Edelman as well. And that’s where it got pretty interesting.

While signing the Patriots jersey for AJ, Edelman suspected if AJ wants to join the Patriots“I don’t know. I saw that whole thing that Brady gave him a signed jersey,” Edelman said. “Is he trying to put a message out there? He wants to go to the Patriots?” To make it more obvious, the rumor mill has been buzzing that if Penn State’s Abdul Carter remains available when the Patriots pick at No. 4, the Eagles could trade AJ Brown to move up and pick Carter instead.

Ain’t that juicier plot twist ahead of the NFL draft? However, it looks like AJ isn’t going anywhere. Not too soon. The reason? Well, the guy signed a three-year, $96 million extension with the Eagles in April 2024, and he’s through the 2029 season with the Eagles. The guy racked up 2,952 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns over his first two years in Philly, and is entering the 2025 season after recording yet another 1,000+ yard season.
