Growing up in the 1990s, Rodgers, born in 1983, felt the weight of the Y2K scare, a time when many believed the world would end in the year 2000. Reflecting on this period, A-rod said, “I had a major fear of the world ending… not being able to accomplish what I want to accomplish in this life.” This fear lingered with him for a long time, making him worry about his dream of becoming an NFL  player.

However, Aaron Rodgers found solace through an Ayahuasca ceremony. Describing his experience, he shared, “Grandmother just took it away by breaking the veil between this world and the Unseen World for me.” During the ceremony, Rodgers felt a strong connection to his ancestors, despite not recognizing them personally. He said, “I recognize by sight I couldn’t tell you this was my great uncle this was so and so but there was a knowing as I looked at their faces that we have some sort of blood connection you know... “. This spiritual encounter helped him let go of his fear and find peace within himself.

Previously, Rodgers shared insights on psychedelics during his talk at the Psychedelic Science 2023 conference.

As per the NY post, he disclosed that many NFL players were curious about psychedelics but were hesitant to speak publicly about it. He said, “like I said, there’s been hundreds of NFL guys who have reached out. I’ve been fortunate enough in the last few years to be able to sit in ceremony with teammates.” He emphasized the transformative nature of these experiences. Aaron further highlighted the positive response he’s received from athletes across various sports, he said, “To see basketball players and baseball players and surfers and entertainers and my own teammates and colleagues across the league reach out, and either share their story about their own medicine journey or ask to be a part of an upcoming one, is pretty special.”

During his conversation with podcaster Aubrey Marcus, titled “How Psychedelics Can Unlock Elite Performance,” Rodgers advocated for expanding access to them for therapeutic purposes. A-rod said, “We have the opportunity to change the conversation by dispelling these archaic myths about the dangers of them or the negative side effects or whatever might be and start to share the actual wisdom and truth about it”.  Additionally, the founder of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies praised Rodgers’ saying, “This has become destigmatized enough that he can be public about it about his experiences”.
