Randi Mahomes has found herself torn between a mixture of emotions. The reason? On one hand, her son, Patrick Mahomes, is on a quest to lead the Chiefs towards the historic 3-peat. On the other hand, she’s been taking care of her ageing father, Randy Martin. Now, just a few days before the AFC championship round between the Chiefs and the Bills, Randi shared an update on Mahomes’ grandfather.

Just an hour ago, Mahomes’ mom hit up her official Instagram handle and posted a story with her father. “My father is in hospice & I’m lost for words,” she wrote in her story. And that’s not all. She also shared a passage from the Bible. “Colossians 3:20.” That says, “Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.”

It’s tough to imagine, but Randi Martin is now in hospice care, which is never an easy thing to go through. Hospice is all about making sure someone’s comfortable and surrounded by love during their final days. And as it appears, Randi’s been right there with him, doing everything she can to make sure he’s getting the best care. No doubt, it’s a tough time for her, balancing the high of her son’s career with such personal struggles at home.

Anyone who closely follows Randi’s Instagram updates is well aware of her father’s health concerns. Last September, she admitted her father to the hospital due to an undisclosed sickness. She announced Martin’s sickness on her Instagram story while writing, “This is how I fight my battles. If you are seeing this, take a moment, and PRAY for my dad now.”

Amidst a critical time, Randi’s keeping her faith strong, letting her actions speak louder than words. No doubt, her recent Instagram story is an example of this. Speaking of her strength in hard times, she recently celebrated her dad’s birthday on January 6. She hoped on to Instagram to share some celebration in the midst of all the stress. Mama Mahomes posted a pic of her father in her story and captioned, Happy Birthday Daddy. I love You.”

Now ahead of her son’s big game, she’s yet again pleading with her followers to pray for her father. The situation is equally troubling for QB Mahomes with a kid on the way and his grandfather in hospital; he still has to pivot his focus on the AFC Championship vs Bills.

Patrick Mahomes gearing up for big game amidst grandfather’s health concern

As millions of fans supported the star QB and the Chiefs, there’s one man who kept supporting him throughout the season despite his health struggles. It’s none other than his grandfather, Randi Martin. Whether it’s cheering for him from the hospital or praying for his success, Randi Martin had his back in one way or another. Now, Patrick Mahomes and his crew are gearing up to for the AFC Championship round against the Bills this Sunday.

For starters, Josh Allen and Co. are one of the two teams who thrashed the reigning champions in the regular season. On the other hand, head coach Andy Reid, pointed out a major concern for their defense. It’s the Bills‘ QB. Ahead of the mega showdown, Reid gave a stern message to the team’s defense: “He’s tough to get down. You got to stay disciplined and stay in your lanes and then you go from there. But once you have a hold of him, you better know he’s tough to bring down, so you better finish it.”

They say, “Andy Reid is Andy Reid.” Well, the head coach is proving this statement right on every step. Besides the defense, the head coach also gave a message to their O-line. You might be wondering what’s that, given Mahomes and the tight end are a force on the field, right? But, there’s still a major threat from the Bills’ defense as they’ve caught 16 interceptions this season and have 18 forced fumbles. Sounds wild, right? Despite all these challenges, the team is favored to win. And that’s exactly what makes Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs one of the top teams in the league.
