Brock Purdy is way past the day when he was drafted last in the 2022 NFL Draft. The young quarterback from the San Francisco 49ers has led his team into the Super Bowl. Despite missing out on the chance to lift the Lombardi Trophy, the former “Mr. Irrelevant” proved himself to be an irreplaceable part of the franchise. Now, as a new revelation comes to light, it seems that Purdy is not only a savior on-field but also has his moments away. On a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee show, the 7th-round pick narrated an encounter when he saved a news anchor’s pet dog from being attacked by a coyote! Calling him “Magic Man,” McAfee asked him about his heroic moment.
Purdy recalls how he was shooting a commercial on the outskirts of San Francisco when he saw a coyote just “trotting by.” He noticed its long tail and, for a moment, thought it resembled a “mini wolf”! Nobody else seemed to have noticed the animal nearby, so the young QB took it upon himself to warn the others. “No one was gonna scream, and I was like, ‘Alright.’ And so I screamed and I was like, ‘Yo, there is a coyote,’ and that thing went running off but yeah, it could have been an ugly day on the shoot, but saved it,” explained Purdy
Purdy didn’t realize that the person he saved by yelling was a CBS news anchor until she walked by him. The anchor was walking her dog nonchalantly when she was alerted about the preying animal lurking nearby by the quarterback’s call.

Apart from saving unaware bystanders from looming predators, the 49ers quarterback doesn’t have any major concerns this offseason. His contract would be negotiated next season, and the CEO, Jed York, has promising views about his pay. However, this security hasn’t stopped the 24-year-old from expressing his support for teammate Brandon Aiyuk.

Brock Purdy comes in support of Brandon Aiyuk
The wide receiver of the San Fransisco 49ers hasn’t been shy of expressing his dissatisfaction with his contract negotiations for the coming season. Aiyuk talked about his stance recently, saying, “I’m trying to get what I deserve.” His latest unfollowing of the franchise’s official Instagram account has been the final nail in the coffin that gave rise to multiple trade rumors. At a recent outing during a youth football camp, Purdy revealed the conversation he had with his fellow teammate in the middle of an uncertain future in the team.
“I just told him I’ll always have his back and support him in whatever he does,” he spoke at Levi’s Stadium, as per Mercury News. Purdy further added, “He and I talk through things and I hear him out. At the end of the day, what he’s done for me, giving me an opportunity to come in and throw him the ball, I’ll always be thankful for that.”

However, the quarterback admitted that the contract discussion ultimately is “a business thing” and is over his “pay grade” to comment about the matter. As for now, Brock Purdy is prepping up for another successful run with his draft team in hopes of reaching the championship once again.
