Cam Newton vs. Mac Jones on Belichick—Who's got it right about the legendary coach?

In a twist that’s more dramatic than a last-minute Hail Mary, former New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has tossed his two cents into the swirling debate about Bill Belichick’s relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson. And boy, did he throw us a curveball!

During a lively exchange at the 2024 ESPYS Red Carpet Show today, Jones was cornered by none other than Cam Newton about the 48-year age gap between Belichick and Hudson. Jones, cool as a cucumber, simply shrugged it off with a “Good for him, it is what it is.” Talk about a plot twist! Newton, on the other hand, fired back with a blunt, “I do not approve.”

But hold on to your helmets, folks! This isn’t Newton’s first rodeo with this topic. Just two weeks prior, he went on a full-blown rant on the 4th and 1 Podcast, addressing Hudson directly: “Jordon, stop your sh*t. Stop your sh*t. Stop your sh*t. It’s nothing about Bill Belichick that you really like outside of his resume…” Ouch! That’s rougher than a blindside sack!

Jones’ chill reaction is particularly intriguing given his rollercoaster relationship with Belichick. Remember when Belichick benched Jones multiple times in the 2022 season? Yet here’s Jones, taking the high road. It’s like watching a Shakespearean drama unfold on the gridiron!

Meanwhile, Belichick and Hudson’s love story reads like a rom-com script. Picture this: They meet Cute on a 2021 flight, bonding over her philosophy homework. Belichick, ever the charmer, signs her textbook with his Super Bowl wins. Fast forward to 2024, and they’re living together in his Massachusetts pad, jet-setting from Croatia to Nantucket.

The football world is buzzing louder than a stadium on Super Bowl Sunday. One of Belichick’s former Patriots colleagues told the US Sun, “This is another shot at youthfulness.” Another source gushed to Page Six, “You can see the connection between them. They are a solid duo, two peas in a pod.”

But not everyone’s cheering from the sidelines. Rob Gronkowski couldn’t resist a jab during Tom Brady’s Netflix roast: “Coach, you used to talk about Foxborough High School when we sucked. But now I know why you were so obsessed with Foxborough High School: you were scouting your new girlfriend.” Talk about a Gronk spike!

Bill Belichick’s new game plan from playbooks to love notes

It seems the maestro of the gridiron is trading X’s and O’s for X’s and O’s of a different kind. Belichick, once known for his stoic sideline scowl, is now spotted grinning ear to ear on Nantucket bike rides with Hudson.

An insider spilled the beans to the US Sun: “I don’t know if he is looking to go back to coaching again. I may be wrong, but I think that he is realizing that there is more in life than just football.” Who knew?

The couple’s been painting the town red – or should we say Patriot blue? They’ve been spotted at Tom Brady’s Patriots Hall of Fame induction, with Hudson rubbing elbows with Belichick’s daughter. Talk about meeting the family!

And let’s not forget the cherry on top – or should we say the ring on the finger? The Daily Mail reported the lovebirds sporting matching rings on their index fingers during their Fourth of July celebrations.

Despite the naysayers, Hudson’s ex-boyfriend, 64-year-old Joshua L. Zuckerman, came to her defense: “She is wise beyond her years, much more than any 20-something I’ve ever met in my life.” Well, that’s one way to silence the critics!

As this unlikely love story continues to unfold, one thing’s for sure – the NFL offseason has never been this entertaining. Who needs fantasy football when you’ve got real-life romance?
